No, we want them to learn and respect this nation's langauge. We want them to respect our immigration laws just for starters. I couldn't care less that they eat burritos. Know what your talking about before you make idiotic statements.

If America is going to survive as country its people are going to have to learn how to live in a society were no one racial group constitutes a majority from about 2050. If it can't do it then the country won't survive it's as simple as that.
Wait, in 2050, are we still considering Latinos a "racial group" instead of what they actually are, racially? When my brother marries his Mexican girlfriend, are they going to add to the white population, or the "Latino" population... or be white Latinos?
There is a definite segment of black population that lives outside of society --- the "ghetto" blacks. Maybe.. what... 20%? of all blacks? But, the ENTIRE population of blacks in this country is about the size of "non assimilated whites" --- the white trash, the hillbillies, etc. --- who are left out of mainstream society as well.
Anyway, here's how we learn to live in a country with changing demographics: Assimilate. No matter what you are. Do it, learn to speak English properly. Learn the value of hard work. Learn manners. Appreciate LEARNING at all!
Asians generally have no problems assimilating. Be it in the United States, or Canada. They often keep their superficial traditions, but they are American.

Latin America is an immigration destination.
There are no white people in Latin America that didn't have ancestors from EUROPE.
If an Italian and a German move to Uruguay and have kids, those descendants are not a magic new race of people, anymore than if those people came to the United States and had their kids.
The fact that some intermarried in the past with an Indian or perhaps a black person will only be as consequential as it can be seen in their face.

And Jessica is the classic case of a white Hispanic person getting flack from other Hispanics for choosing to not give much weight to the fact that her ancestors made a stop over in Latin America before moving to America!

Exactly, notice that their is no complaint about Russian or other European illegal immigrants. The issue of illegal immigration by the conservatives is squarely framed in the context of HISPANIC ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.
I know I've said this often, but it always boggles my mind how Mexicans are chided for not assimilating quickly enough, but Asians get a free pass.
Because the Asians aren't reluctant to learn English and adapt.
You don't have to listen to a hundred options for dialects and languages from India for example. People from India don't insist we must learn all their 100 languages to accomodate them. They generally arrive here already prepared and speaking English and unlike the hispanics, you almost never see people from India using their race as some excuse or demanding affirmative action.
Race has a LOT to do with it. Just because it's politically incorrect by many to say so does not make the argument invalid.
Society is partly a racial construct. Look around at nations around the world. Those of the same race have a closer culture than they do to those countries which are of a different race.
Even within our own country, note the various subcultures within our own, as they relate to race.
There cannot be a strong, free, and united multi-racial country. Ultimately, the culture changes, people squabble, and it falls apart. Furthermore, various racial groups are different when you get down to it, in various areas, from average IQ, level of success, preferences in art and music, propensity to be innovative, etc.
I do agree with you that you cannot have a strong, free, and united multi-cultural country, even amongst groups within the same race, but don't discount the impact race has on society and culture. It is huge.
Most immigrants and invaders are not drawn here for those reasons. Most are drawn here for reasons of making more money and leading a better life. Either that, or they're moving here to be with family who have already emigrated. They're not thinking about American history or the Constitution. Do you really think that most immigrants care about this stuff?
