This is very, very sad and I feel very sorry for the mother and the "children". But I do not think that she, nor anyone else has the right to decide whether they live or die. Just because they are disabled doesn't mean that they aren't people.

You're right. Only God has the right to decide whether they live or die. That why I say pull these two out of their worldly wheel chairs, drop them off somewhere, and then let God decide their fate.
Just because they are disabled doesn't mean that they aren't people.
We're talking about two people in their 40's who have now spent about 30 years of their life with no ability to respond to stimuli, no ability to feed themselves, and absolutely no way to enjoy life.
It's cruel to force them to stay alive this long with the usage of machinery - especially considering that there is zero chance of their condition improving.

So if you need a machine to live, that means you're life is worthless.

If you would'nt live without the machines, the machines just BARELY keeping you alive, you're not responding to ANY stimuli, and there's no hope for recovery?
She doesn't need to do all that.
She can just do what Americans do...drop them off in a nursing home.
How mnay of you feeling sorry for her have relatives in a nursing home that you don't visit?
Oops,they are in an institution.
Even then, how would she exactly know what they would want?
How do we know they can't respond to stimuli quietly(maybe they know but aren't able to express it)?

What kind of life is it?
"Congratulations. You get to live the amazing existence of having a specialized wheelchair to keep you from slipping to the floor. You get the most amazing cuisine delivered right into your body. No need to stop staring at that spot in the wall (you can't see anywise because you're blind) just to use the restroom! You have the joy of peeing and pooping into bags! Don't worry about working or having a mortgage, you don't even have the motor capacity to deal with that fly on your arm - let alone even feel that you have a fly on your arm."
What a life that must be.
