While I'm sure some refused on principal I'm doubtful it was more than a handful. If you're truly in need you're going to do what is necessary to feed your family. In any event I don't see any difference between an employer requiring drug testing or the welfare office.

This hasn't been wasteful spending, if we are to go by the chart they have saved $30 for every dollar spent. It's an enormous success for saving money.

I doubt outrage would stand in the way of getting free Obama money. They were druggies and didn't want to get caught.

I don't know what you're looking at, the OP's link and everyone else is reporting the bill has been a failure costing the taxpayer over 45K, not including other fees.

This Floridian cares.
It was a bone-headed idea, and we taxpayers ended up footing the bill.

Who honestly thinks the tea party even cared if people on welfare were using drugs or how much it cost--they just want to embarrass and punish the people receiving services. It gives them a little tingle down the leg...

I'm a business owner. We can't afford to have the tea party in power much longer--they're going to bankrupt state budgets with this big government, anti conservative crap they're trying to disguise as republican policy. They need to get out of the party.

I would suggest reading more than what you want to read. Here's the table again that takes into consideration the 1500 people that refused the test.

They might of spent $50k on tests but nearly 2 million in benefits was denied.

In the very short timespan for the table Floridians have saved about $1.8 million.

I couldn't agree more. It's another perfect example of stupid huge government tea party legislation that is wasting taxpayer's dime.

You are not posting a source link, plus this is only a cherry picked segment of the first quarter only to some results.

Post a source and the entire year's full results, then we'll talk.
