Many believe that Obama was the cause for the deficit crisis. WRONG. Uneducated or uninformed believe Obama was the cause. Actually, Bush Jr. is to blame. First, with the spending for the wars in Afghanistan and in Iraq. Then, with all that bailout money to banks and private investors. When Bush Jr. started his presidency, the deficit was at 5 trillion, thanks to Reagan. After Bush Jr. left office, out deficit was at 12 trillion. Then, Obama had to spend money to help clean up the mess that Bush Jr. made.

If you think I'm baloney, please read this:

Obama Didn't Create Today's Budget Deficit Problem. Bush Did. | The New Republic

Basically, Bush Jr. spent on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan more than Obama spent in his presidency. Now you see where your tax dollars went when Bush Jr. was in office.

Everybody wants to throw dirt at Obama.

Quote:
In the 2000 campaign, Clinton's would-be successor, Al Gore, campaigned on a promise to, in effect, put those surpluses aside for a rainy day. Bush would have none of it. The government had too much money, he said; the responsible thing was to give it all back to the taxpayers. In office, he did just that, presiding over massive tax cuts that gave, by far, the largest benefits to the very wealthy. Bush promised that the tax cuts would act like a "fiscal straightjacket," preventing government from growing. But then he, and his allies, launched two major wars and enacted a drug benefit for Medicare, all without paying for them.
This gives us a good reason for us to hate Bush Jr.

Because hating is really what it is about with the far left isn't it!

FYI the derivatives trading disaster was set up during the Clinton administration. Democrats in control of the Senate rebuked every attempt of the Bush administration to re-vamp the financial structures (legislatively speaking) which led to the 2008 crash.

Every single Congressman/woman who voted for T.A.R.P and who voted for an increase in the debt ceiling is responsible.

Since Obama has been in office he has added MORE to the US Debt than all POTUS prior, combined.

You perhaps need to look at deficit sponeidng in less than four years with Obama and the amoutns spoent in eight under Bush. Then you will have to factor in governament cost for his new healthcare bill and the funding. Also factor i the amounts per bush in war spending to include The gulf war and hafter math then Clintons solmolia campaign.Actaully much pof Bush;s spendig i the two wars were pased by a democratic congress and they still support spending nearly four years after Obama has gotten i office. the real monsters i the room tho are three program ;medicare;'mediciad and Soical security in gains of per centage of all federal revenues collected. The we have a huge new one i the healthcare bill whose cost is being scored higher and hgher evrytime by CBO.Actaylly the deficit crisis was set in motion long ago by increasaes in spending for programs that where even then projected to increase in cost beyond what govenment can take i and still have a growing economy. I am waitig to see people scream about jobs loss when the mitlray budget cuts come just as we saw when base closings where proposed.

Perhaps you didn't read the chart. As of July 2011, Obama added $1.44 trillion dollars. Bush Jr added $5.07 trillion dollars.
