Mitt Romney today spoke about our growing national debt. 5 trillion added under Obama in 31/2 years.

We as tax payers are in the hole by $520,000 for each household.

And this is with a very low interest rate on the debt. We have a president who spends money on fund raisers on the tax payer. Do you really think Obama has a budget? No way.

With the housing crisis and the national debt growing will we ever see the light?

Obama threw good money after bad on Solyndra. His green energy ideas are bankrupting us . To all that voted for Obama , you supported a man who is a socialist who wanted power and misused it not to create jobs but to bankrupt the United States..how Obama runs the country is by the seat of pants with no plan at all. His whims and ideas are not creating jobs, they are killing them.

Romney can afford to pay it.
He wanted the U.S. housing market to "hit bottom" for the middle class. bless his heart.

He has no credibility to discuss this.

This doesn't add up.

National debt = approx 16 trillion
Households = approx 116 million
16,000,000,000,000 / 116,000,000 = 138k per household

Am I missing something?

Kind of.. but you're correct, the numbers dont add up

$16T debt / 300M individuals = $53,333 per individual.
Average household size I believe is 4, = $213,333 per household.

But, thats only public debt. Lets not even think about the unfunded liabilities estimated as high as $150 Trillion, or $2.1M per household...

Why because he's rich he cant discuss the liabilities? Obama is also rich and so are most politicians, so using your standards, no one can discuss it.. shhhh, if you dont discuss it, it doesnt exist..

You're the typical braindead American dolt divided along political party lines who can't think for yourself. You are honestly going to blame the US economic problems on Obama? LMAO!

EVERY PRESIDENT SINCE THE 1950s INCLUDING both DEMS and REPUBLICANS have been bleeding this country dry while bailing out the rich. The middle class is being squeezed by the same idiots you pay lip service too.......the rich and the conservatives. The liberals and the democrats have long lost any and all credibility as far as righting this economic ship of disaster. Clinton was a joke. But my god? The conservatives are just down right idiots! Keep drinking the kool aid lady!

Pointing out how his programs failed to help the economy, isnt the same as blaming him for the problems. The never ending "gotta defend Obama for nothing", continues..

Obama isn't nearly as rich as Romney and the Romney family. You reallly don't understand true wealth if you believe otherwise. Obama has made a lot of money in the last few years being President. Romney and Obama are both clowns and don't care about the average America at all. They both answer to the same puppeteers that pull the strings and control our government, our military, and our foreign policy. The bankers don't care if you're an old monied elite limp wristed nancy like Romney or a clueless, noveux riche dolt like Obama. They are both puppets for the elitist scum that run this country and have been running it for 100 years.

They show about 114k households in the US in 2010 here: http://www.census.gov/population/pro...am/table1n.txt

I'd think 116k is a much estimate for total households 2012 than the 75k you used.
