Even if this is true, why should it prevent them from marrying a partner?
There's no law against a committment ceremony with their partner.
Infact, there are already laws that give them rights as a couple - cohabitation agreements, common law marriage, etc. When contracts are created upon living together, such rights can be even more extensive.
Children should not be prevented the "equal" right of being raised by "same" 2 opposite sexes that created them: a MOTHER AND FATHER, as all of us were created. Laws are for the good of society - not for encouraging harmful behavior, as homosexual sex (STDs,AIDS) statistically proves to be. Even 2 healthy males who have anal sex carrry risks as mentioned. Why would society create laws that encourage such unhealthy behavior?

Yet none of those laws grant the same rights and privileges as marriage.

Which while raised by opposite parents may be the most ideal situation, being raised by homosexual parents is still a good option.
I also want to thank those who have proven the point in the OP about how those supporting the gay-agenda use name-calling & harrassment instead of logic to try to get what they want.
Are you sure you and I have been reading the same thread?
I want to thank those who have stood up for marriage between a man & a woman (which is honoring the way we came to exist).

Here's some logic for you to consider: allowing gay people to have the same relationship rights as heterosexuals is fair and it costs you nothing. Gay people are not out to destroy the world, and they're not going to magically "turn you gay". They mostly just want to live their lives with equal rights and dignity. You don't have to be friends with them or change your marriage; you just have to step out of the way and let them live their life, same as you are free to live yours. The world is not better off when people like you try to dictate other's personal choices that do not harm you or anyone else.
The negatives that people point to regarding homosexuals - promiscuity, STDs, drug use, etc. - are all things that: (1) aren't the behavioral norm for all much less even most homosexuals, and (2) don't exclusively apply to homosexuals per se. There are plenty of heterosexuals who choose to have unprotected promiscuous sex, and no one is barring them from equal relationship rights. How is that fair and consistent?
The only reason there is to be so virulently against this is a prejudiced dislike of those different from yourself, much as was the case with institutionalized racism in our country's history. For your own sake, don't be that type of a person.
What goes up... must come down.
It's not about "judgment some day."
EVERYTHING we do has consequences.
If 2 men engage in anal sex, even if both are healthy, they risk anal fissures, anal cancer, bacterial infection & colon rupture.
If people sleep around, as statistics show those with homosexual preferences do, they tend to contract & spread STDs & AIDS.
And when men and women have sex it can cause vaginal bacterial infections, vaginal fissures, penile fissures, and infections.
Childbirth as a result of m/f sex can cause vaginal prolapse, incontinence, high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, varicose veins, calcium depletion.
Both heterosexuals, and homosexuals have anal sex, so these could be considered sexual consequences.
According to the CDC, 44% of heterosexuals admit to engaging in anal sex and that number is on the rise. Even if every single homosexual on earth engaged in anal sex (which they don't), heterosexuals would engage in several more magnitudes of anal sex than gays would.
