Society can do nothing for such people. It will be almost as great a waste of money as dumping billions in Haiti, or Israel .

So the solution is to throw people in jail because they get high?

Is this your idea of liberty?

A core principle of liberty are accountability for ones own actions. (It's also the principle most liberals hate because the word "accountability" is foreign to them)

So no matter what the laws dictate...if you choose to use drugs..you take liberty upon yourself to act under those circumstances.

The philosophy on the war on drugs is to NOT suffer others pockets to facilitate the war on drugs.

Like the dude totally, unwittingly said black people will vote for Obama in 2012 simply because he is black..

What a fail.
What does race have to do with advocating for drug treatment. I fail to see the correlation - wait! - I know - there is none! You do know this...right?

How about just ending the war on drugs?

it has a lot to do with it....

What demographic is the head and shoulders offender of drug convictions...??

Have you heard of the Rockerfeller Drug Laws before?

There is a reason there has been such an outcry for the decriminalization and dilution of the drug offense legislation in this country....

Who do these revisions benefit the most?

This is checkers not chess....

And WE have to pay for these addicts who made their own choices to use drugs?

No way. If you want to allow them to do drugs, then you should allow them to OD and die in the streets. Let them make their own choices, let the taxpayers keep our money.

A true libertarian isn't going to want another huge welfare handout program that robs taxpayers of money to provide free rehabs to those who made their choice to use drugs.

At the very least, let the addicts suffer the consequences of their poor choices and pay their own way through rehab. Or let them die. No more free hospital stay when they overdose, if they don't have insurance or their insurance doesn't pay for drug overdoses, too bad.

Also no more SSI, food stamps, Medicaid or any government handouts to the idiots that make a choice to lay around using drugs.
