Death penalty maybe but if I was going to be executed I'd certainly want the firing squad especially in they were expert marksman. It is still a form of execution in a few states, it's rare because the inmate has to pick it.

lotsa drug use in indonesia and other countries that execute drug dealers/smugglers. doesn't have any impact on drug use or cases of smuggling, just raises the price and gives smugglers more incentive. dumb law.

doubt they were smuggling it to the UK. its more expensive in bali than in the UK. they were prolly planning on selling it in bali so they could stay on permanent vacation in paradise. its something a lot of ppl do, the jails of southeast asia are filled w/ thousands of westerners who simply didn't want to go home and made a dumb mistake.

For drug traffickers why not?

Look at the destruction their great greed brings -- deaths like Whitney Houston, many many others.

What kind of country simply sits back and allows foreign criminals to come as they please and poison it's citizens with the most toxic and addictive substances?

Before you decide to target the people of any particular country so you can get very rich by intentionally addicting them to the most addictive substances you can come up with, you should check that country's laws and then decide if your lust for money is worth losing your own life.

The only country that ever managed to eradicate drug use with "tough" measures was China under Mao, and said crackdown was part of severe measures which included genocide and the deaths of millions of people.

I would hope that no one would want to replicate what China suffered under Mao in their own country.

Uh, you have a War on Drugs™ do you not?

Okay then, dealers are summarily executed. What's the problem?

War is Hell...

The execution of drug smugglers? I guess we could give them a cot and three hots a day instead. No lets just execute them. Will it work to make others think twice? Darwinism will be in effect.
Bottom line if your smuggler don't go to places that execute you for smuggling drugs.
