So why is it believable that a intelligent god formed out of nothing? Is it not more believable that simple things become more complex over time?
Things don't form out of nothing according to science, which evolution and the big bang theory directly relate to. God and spirituality aren't science. For me, science explains how and not why.

Yes, god and spirituality are the equivalent of hocus pocus. I'm glad that you've admitted they have nothing to do with science. That's half the battle. You've admitted that they have no place in a science class. God and whatever spirituality is are dependent on faith which by definition is belief without evidence. You are free to believe in hocus pocus but do not associate it with real peer reviewed science.
I forgot to add that science does not say that things don't form from nothing. First you'd have to define what nothing is. Secondly, scientist are working to figure out if/how something can come from "nothing". Absolutely no need to shoehorn a god in.

What's the point of being an *** about it?
Who thinks religion and science are the same thing?
//I believe in god, though not organized religion. What you are saying is insulting to any theist. I know you don't like it when people insult and dehumanize homosexuals, so why would you do the same to a different "group"? I know a lot of "religious" people insult gays, but as I said, I believe in god and I have nothing against gay people. I don't insult anyone unless they're being a jackass. //end of offtopic

This is a false statment because they indeed do. Particles and their antiparticles including photons are created from the vacuum and in most cases annihilate and are gone. This has been proven by the experimental observation of the Ahranov-Bohm Effect. The Big Bang is a poor description of what happened at creation as Steven Hawking noted space-time as well as energy and matter were all created together at the exact same instant. There was nothing then everything we know existed. No explosion and no place for a intelligent designer.

Who's being an "***" about it? I don't have to censor myself because of your delusion. I view creationism as hocus pocus magic. Homosexuals are actual people unlike an imaginary god. The two should not be mixed up.
Also, there is a current thread and have been plenty where people advocate teaching creationism in classes. And if you don't know some states have legislated into curriculm.

That's great, but be respectful to other people. Not everyone thinks the same way you do.
Unless of course someone starts a stupid thread insulting something, then by all means be rude to them.
both seem compatible...we evolved to a point and then bestowed with a soul
not enough facts to support big bang theory. probably more believe in creationism than evolution. Evolution has taken place but ther eis enough evidence to throw doubt on humans evolving from algae.
a puzzlement that schools refuse to teach both as most religions teach creationism and most people belong to a religious organization. So just culturally it should be compared. If a theory is so solid it would easily stand up to scrutiny, right? Science must be challenged continuosly in order to exist. So why not challenge it...either in history, science or social studies classes.
The official state religion is Atheism.
All scientific theories presented in public schools must be in agreement with the central tenants of the state religion.
