It has lost its pizzaz if it ever had one. Nice to make contact with long lost friends but then after 30 years what does one really have in common. There is only so much one can reminisce over before it becomes ho hum, yawn.
Pages are better than walls but even they are getting less attention. Start a page be prepared to invest a lot of time to keep it dynamic.
Don't understand...people left myspace format to go to facebook for better format. Then facebook goes to that STUPID timeline...which was like the old myspace format.
Stupid.
Deep in my mind, I questioned the prudence of a Facebook IPO considering that my own usage was declining. Certainly my usage is no barometer, per se, but it appears that i'm not the only one who sees Facebook as less of social tool than it used to be. It very well could be in decline.
I still like the idea of keeping in touch with old friends and colleagues that are scattered across the planet. For that reason, I won't completely abandon FB.
I loved facebook back in the day. I experienced 1st in college where you'd have about 20 of your boys, a couple chicks you liked, and that was it. Now a days your Uncle, Grandma, high school teacher, etc etc wants to add you. Even your employer wants to check your facebook!
To me it started to decline when it was no longer personal and you couldn't post what you wanted for fear of somebody misinterpreting you or for fear of getting fired.
