The Stonewall Uprising is even acknowledged on a bronze historical marker here in Philadelphia in front of Independence Hall:

Yeah, the law against cross-dressing in public had nothing to do with it. DO you get it? They were about to arrest people for wearing a dress.

What do they get a riot and almost killed
How almost tragic.

and you and Obama claim that is some great moment in LGTB history. That is pathetic.
People who weren't harming anyone fought back against persecution. It was unfortunate that it took something that violent to get reforms passed, but apparently arguments weren't carrying the day.

You're quite the statist when it suits you, aren't you?

Next, Obama will probably celebrate this old black biatch who didn't want to sit in the back of the bus any longer. That old woman defied police and was a public nuisance.

How dare anyone in this country stand up for their rights and demand equality and freedom of persecution? It's appalling.

Before we know it, we better stop celebrating when those idiots in Boston defied police and the English crown. I hear there was violence, too.

Because you cant put men and women in the same jail cell

It was a great moment in LGBT history. The greatest moment in LGBT history.

Because of what happened at Stonewall, hundreds of cities all over the world stage celebrations commemorating what happened there. These cities include:

In the US:

New York
Boston
Philadelphia
Albany
Fort Lauderdale
Baltimore
Atlanta
Los Angeles
San Francisco
Hartford
Portland
New Orleans
Pittsburgh
Cleveland
Nashville
Phoenix
Denver
Orlando
Sacramento
Richmond
Tucson
Seattle
Augusta
Minneapolis
Wichita
Allentown
etc. to name a few

and in the rest of the world:

Tokyo, Japan
Sao Paulo, Brazil
Bangkok, Thailand
Chisinau, Moldova
Tel Aviv, Israel
Paris, France
Mexico City
Sydney, Australia
Colombo, Sri Lanka
Berlin, Germany
Singapore
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Vienna, Austria
Kobe, Japan
Taipei, Republic of China
Edmonton, Canada
Mauritius
Beirut, Lebanon
Mumbai, India
Barcelona, Spain
Cape Town, South Africa
Dublin, Ireland

etc., to name a few

Can you name an event that happened on US soil that is celebrated in scores of countries on every inhabited continent on earth?

Damn, but you people are dense. They were arresting people for cross-dressing. It was a crime to put on a dress, if you were male. That is what the inspections were for. That was how these raids went down, OK?

I find it impossible to explain it simpler terms, sorry.
