Unless you believe your health insurance is truly secure for the long-term, you're better off.

But that vastly understates the true number of winners because millions of other Americans — including many who oppose the act — would have been at risk of being one of those 30 million. So add in every American who currently works for a company that offers good health insurance but is at risk of losing that job (and who isn’t in this world of outsourcing and private equity buyouts?); every American who would have found health insurance unaffordable but will now receive crucial financial help; every American with a pre-existing condition who would have been flatly denied coverage in many states.

Your master sat down on live TV and told the American people it wasn't a tax. A few of us smart guys pointed out that it was a tax, just not fairly apportioned and highly progressive. He adamantly denied that it was a tax. He didn't lie to me, because I knew it was a tax. He lied to America.

The big lie hasn't been revealed yet. Wait about 18 months.

Do you have health insurance?

Romney was in favor of some portions of ObamaCare, but not as it is written, and not the corrupt legislative process with which it was passed into law.

Charities don't pay $75K hospital bills for one person. There was a person who used to post frequently on these health care threads who was diagnosed with cancer at age 23 or so. I forget the details of her situation, but she investigated all the help possible, and didn't come up with much.

I'm suspicious of a lot of those donation drives; you don't always know who is really getting the money.

I agree that the Obama Admin did not want to label the fine as a tax. They believe there was justification for the fine via the Interstate Commerce clause as has been done before. But if the SC wanted to define the fine as tax, it is still justifiable to impose the tax. I also hear several TV talking heads say the fine/tax is moot as if people don't pay it, there is no recourse. If it had been determined to be a fine, those statements would be true, however, a tax is a tax and the methods of collecting and penalizing failure to pay them, are pretty well known. The Dems wanted it to be a fine and subsequently not really subject to penalty if not paid. They did not want people in the middle income area forced to pay. That you can thank the Conservative Chief Justice for.

If mandate, how can the Supreme Court re-write the damn law to make it a tax? They ruled a Mandate of such nature is not Constitutional but a tax is.

If a tax, then clearly Obama and Pelosi and the rest of them lied.

Either way, it just goes to show you that this Obamacare was crooked from start to finish. Look what they did to get the damn thing passed in the first place. Look how We the people were against it. Look what it took to get it signed off by the Supreme Court. This is not how our country is supposed to work.
At one time it was illegal to drink. Any law written can be repealed.

He didn't want to present it as a tax, because when you say that word, at least half of America froths at the mouth and loses capability of rational thought. Definitely some political spinning there...but that's what politicians do, right?

At the end of the day, it's not truly a tax in the conventional sense. Taxes are typically something you must always pay based on your consumption or earnings. This is really a penalty that will only be paid by those who choose not to get health insurance. So for the vast majority of people, it's no impact at all in any way to their taxes. It's perfectly easy to avoid this penalty: get health insurance.

I am real surprised that the GOP people could read thru all those pages of Robert's Opinion. I mean really, how many pages is it?

Just get to your point, and ask your question.

I'm not going to waste my time while you waste five pages of posts, and play your little games, by dancing around some point from a minor epiphany of yours.
