If these tax breaks expire, a middle class family filing as married with two children making $50,000, will see your taxes increase by aprox $2,700 a year. This works out to be an extra $112.50 per paycheck or $225.00 MORE per month of your income that goes to taxes.
Can you afford this tax increase?
Obama has made it clear he will let these tax breaks expire -> higher taxes on middle class Americans. There is only one way to stop this tax increase.
Indeed. Also a hard liner that refuses to see the evils of her own party. But to be fair about 80% of the poster on here are the same way.
Obama's Il. Selling Obama's seat? The Chicago way.
It's not a stretch to believe Obama twists arms to get what he wants. He did it to get the vote required to pass Obama care.
This is normal DC politics.
IMO people who support things like Obama care do so because they are not the ones paying for it. They are not impacted so it's a great idea.
They "think" they are not impacted.
There is no way the government can fund/subsidize/support existing insurance holders and take on 30 million more people.
If you are working and your company provides insurance. Remember, the penalty is cheaper than providing insurance so many companies will pay the penalty (tax) and now you will have to buy your own insurance.
If your company opts out, you are mandated to buy insurance and if you don't you will be forced to pay the penalty (tax).

Yes, they THINK they will not be impacted and that is a BIG mistake.
When the current tax rate is not enough money they will have to increase tax revenue by raising taxes again, and lower the tax table threshold in effect lower income people will have to pay taxes or they can print more money essentially causing inflation so it cost more to buy anything or the US will go bankrupt. Businesses will be effected and will either raise prices, will layoff, opt to pay the penalty instead forcing you to pay for our own insurance.
You see, even if you are lower income, basic necessities will cost you more so it WILL effect you.

"Hey Mortimer, we have been offering our employees insurance for decades."
"Indeed, Randolph. Makes it possible to attract and retain talent."
"Well, we should stop doing so now."
"I am not sure I follow, Randolph. Why is that an attractive option all of a sudden?"
"Because now - get this - now with the passage of PPACA, we will finally get penalized for doing so."
"Not sure I quite follow, old bean? Changing a sound business practice for the chance of paying government penalties is a good idea?"
"Yes, Mortimer! We will cut compensation to the employees across the board, p.ss off the workforce, drive our best people into the arms of our competitors. Sure, we could have done that all the time, but now - now, we will get to pay government penalties that won't benefit us in the slightest. It's a like a dream come true!"
Competitiveness lol? it is not an employees market. There are too many people out there looking for a job. Its cheaper than paying insurance and since you can not hire everyone in the world and because the cost of insurance will go up, companies will not offer insurance as a benefit and no insurance package will more than likely become the norm.
Many businesses are already claiming they will pay the penalty. Going a step further, many companies will outsource and 1099 so a penalty will not be a factor, many companies will keep below the limit set within Obamacare (not hiring) or layoff to get below the limit.
Now must you resort to lowly name calling to voice your opinion?
Zero is cheaper than paying insurance, yet hundreds of companies have offered insurance as part of their compensation for decades. Now suddenly, at the chance of paying a penalty, they're supposed to decide against that. It's a really stupid line of reasoning, and you should feel bad for arguing it.
