well, since i never wanted to be gay in the first place i wonder whom someone is addressing when they say they 'disagree' with homosexuality.
since i spent years of my life trying to convince myself i wasn't gay and to try to 'be' straight obviously i didn't choose to be gay.
so WHO are they disagreeing with? it can't be with the gay PEOPLE since it wasn't chosen. That's like saying i disagree with black skin or i disagree with left handedness.
are they disagreeing with God or Nature?
does it make sense to disagree with reality as it exists?
A better question is, "What does itmatter, whether people are born gay or straight?" I wasn't born a songwriter, and yet my choosing to write songs has somehow escaped the wide net of nationwide disdain. None of you were born City-Data regulars. Yet, here you are, giving nature the middle finger.
We should all be ashamed for wearing clothes, because we were born nudists. This is the argument you're making when you think "Gays were not born gay!" means anything whatsoever.
I don't think people (namely teenagers) should commit homosexual acts if they don't at least feel like they're homosexuals. But then, I don't think anyone should commit sexual acts with anyone they don't plan to be with for the rest of their lives. This puts gays and homosexual activity on the same level as "straights" and heterosexual activity... which of course is what the bigots out there really have the problem with, truth be told. Equality of any sort.
