Few things demonstrate the decline of civilization as thoroughly as artificial reproductive technology, specifically "in vitro" fertilization or IVF.
With IVF, the devil kills two birds with one stone: 1) multiple children are aborted; 2) the children who survive are purposely deprived of knowing their father.
"As Hanby indicates, children born of IVF also experience doubt and confusion: what about their 'spare' siblings who were not 'selected' for implantation? What about siblings sacrificed through selective abortion – or kept alive in a state of limbo through cryopreservation? ...What about 'lineage, kinship and descent'? The author speaks poignantly in place of the child when he asks, 'Who am I – what am I?' when all these relations have been circumvented and made superfluous by technology."
Thats ridiculous. It's no different than a young man wondering about all of his potential brothers and sisters that never made it, and ran down mom's leg after his dad had sex with her.
To end their brief existence as a stain on the sheets, eventually being placed into a washing machine and cleansed with Tide or some other detergent.

What do you mean by this? Isn't IVF typically done with the father's sperm and in the context of a committed relationship? I find it hard to take your rantings seriously.
1. Many married couples go the IVF route because of medical problems.
2. How about asking all of the pro-lifers out there why they aren't legislating laws to try to restrict or ban IVF? They are all over abortion rights but don't seem to have a problem with IVF, do they? You never see anyone picketing out in front of fertility clinics, do you?

#1. You haven't done your homework. You're simply reciting someone else's belief.
Biologically speaking nobody is aborting children. Many times the blastocyst dies on its own after cell division in a lab. Many times there's only one viable blastocyst to mature at a time, and that is implanted. Sometimes it doesn't implant and it spontaneously aborts. Additionally, couples who are infertile use this technology to have a family.
I have no idea what you're talking about spare siblings, many times nothing happens with the eggs fertilized in a dish. It's not that easy to conceive with IVF when a couple is infertile.

Do your homework.
I disagree with you, a lot, but I am 100% on board with this particular post. WesternPilgrim seems to find the devil under every bed and behind every door.

Just another religious bigot wanting to foist his/her beliefs on everyone else.

That is just plain silly. Are you seriously opposed to IVF?
