The United States and its "alies" are currently engaged in asymmetrical warfare. Our enemies may not even be in a position to negotiate because it is difficult to identify leadership.

Additionally, our reliance on technical gadgets may have potentially left us deficient from a HUMINT perspective. This means there is a high probability "terrorist" organizations are already operating in our country and very well may have strategically placed nuclear weapons in certain major cities and vital infrastructures.

On top of that, from a global perspective, reputable environmental science publications have stated that another agriculutural revolution must take place, larger in scope than previously, in the next 20 years in order for us to avoid global pestilence and starvation. Given the fact that a signficant number of countries are exempt from the Kyoto treaty, a vast amount of virtually unregulated pollution is being generated from third world countries to satiate first world desires.

Species are being extinct, climate change is contributing to agricultural problems we have not encountered before, nor did we anticipate, and the population continues to climb, placing enormous strain on scarce resources.

Oil, the most important natural resource for continuing business operations likely reached it's peak extraction point in the 2000s, yet publicly marketed alternatives are not even close to being a viable solution.

Yet, all people seem to talk about on this board is how a certain politician is going to prevent them from obtaining a luxury in their life.

Wake up! Civilization is collapsing. We are asleep at the wheel. The one thing I am learning through this ordeal is that I must accept my own mortality. I must make peace with the fact that I will not live forever, and unfortunately, I will likely be alive to see the "end of days" occur right before my eyes.

If we hope to survive, there are many things we can do. One of which is to listen instead of holding on to our dogmatic beliefs which have put us in the situation that we are currently in. Another thing is to understand that we must sacrafice. If we truly love our children, it is our responsibility to pave the way for them and leave them a better place than we left behind.

We have our lost way, and it may be too late to find it. I will say, there is evidence that suggests we do have sources for alternative energy, but unforunately, the powers that be are keeping this knowledge from us, and instead are using it to create weapons more powerful and destructive than we could have ever imagined.

No man-made system lasts forever.

History is cyclic... creation, growth, maintenance, decline and death... then a new creation.

Morals and culture [which affect all other aspects of society] are in decline everywhere on the planet.

Social degeneracy and disintegration begin slowly at first, then the end process speeds up until systems start to collapse.

We are now in the decline and death stage.

There will be no reprieve.

If this is truly the case, then why do we stand idly by?

Because there's little any one individual can do. Collective action is possible, but present circumstances are such that people who do care are surrounded by those who don't.

There's only one solution in the end: conversion. Men must return to God.

“Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted will I pluck up, even this whole land. And seekest thou great things for thyself? Seek them not.”

- Jeremiah 45:4-5

To quote a famous [infamous] writer:

" It impresses upon us the fact that human history, far from being a steady ascension towards the better, is an
increasingly hopeless process of bastardisation, emasculation and demoralisation of mankind; an inexorable “fall.”

It rouses in us the yearning to see the end — the final crash that will push into oblivion both those worthless “isms”
that are the product of the decay of thought and of character...

Never mind how bloody the final crash may be! Never mind what old treasures may perish for ever in the redeeming
conflagration! The sooner it comes, the better. We are waiting for it — and for the following glory.... "

This is what happens when people rely on government to run their lives and be a moral compass. Government cannot be moral, they have proved it time and time again.

Yep - the problem is that too many people don't study history - it truly is a science. They get in the mindset that the period of time that they have lived in is how thing always have been and always will be. Even a cursory study of the rise and fall of civilizations will tell them that they are no different then those people were - and will end up in the same place - the graveyard(both of people and societies).

It's what happens when an officially atheist government tolerates and promotes immorality.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders.
And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Is 9:6
