CBBC Newsround - Nearly all of Greenland's ice sheet surface melts
Was there a question or a point that I missed here?

The center of the Greenland Ice Cap has not been exposed to air temperatures above 32 deg F. for a very long time. This, if it continues for decades, may have substantial effect on ocean chemistry and overall sea level. This is an interesting detail in our worldwide experiment in Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide concentration.

Not quite. This article mentions that it appears to happen about every 150 years.

...and of course man-made global warming was rampant then, what with all the horse manure in the streets.

What would have happened if ALL of the Greenland Ice cap melted in June? That would be interesting.

If the ice sheet on land melted where is the water now? I went sailing last week and high tide was no higher than normal in my area of Portsmouth NH, where tides run pretty well.

Something is wrong with this report. I don't buy that there is 1% ice left on Greenland... If that is true then there is a error in how much water was contained in the ice.

Water isn't molasses slowly making it's way around the earth, it blends in almost instantly taking on salt and becoming salt water due to tidal and wind action. This is not the Black Sea..

What will happen if the Gulf Stream collapses due to the change in salinity of the Northern Atlantic caused by the melting ice? What do the scientists say? What are the consequences? Have you done your research? Are you so sure in your beliefs in the face of scientific facts?
