Without fuel, beans, bullets, and band-aids, the military would run out of supplies quickly. They would be overwelmed in short order.
As would Alaska if any effective embargo were implemented. Where would you get your beans bullets and band-aids from; Russia? You got your very own navy up there?

So do nuclear weapons
Nuclear weapons are pretty useless in domestic warfare. Why have we not nuked the Taliban?

Something else needs mention: are foreign powers just going to sit idly by and watch this internal U.S. strife or would they get involved in a myriad of clandestine ways. Would they indeed be more than willing to support an uprising OR assist in quelling one at the request of your sitting government. Can you say for sure?

Mexcio just going to sit there, looking askance at California ripe for the picking? might you folks have to watch your back door in Texas lest those angry Latinos take the opportunity to right a perceived ancient slight or two. Canada going to attempt to enforce a no-fly zone over it's sovereign territory if so, who might jump at the opportunity to help them enforce her borders, an ally or an enemy?

It'll never happen folks. The rebellion talk is limited to a bunch of whannabe's who will never leave the barca-lounger to threaten your standing military. Plinking soda cans on a fence row does not a rebel make.

Great question. Think it could have anything to do with the poppy (opium) farms ?? I always wondered why
the military didn't use that to pay for it's war. (I know, I know, it's way off topic)

if the military was off the chain we would have left there in the first few months, remember how fast we kick sadam's ass when no chains were attached..

First, there is no such thing as an "effective" embargo. Second, Alaska already gets a great deal from Asia and other nations, and we sell our products to other nations as well (22 nations in total). Japan buys most of our fish, and we sell some oil to both Taiwan, South Korea, and Russia. There is no reason we could not buy products from Asia just as easily as the lower-48.

You may recall that it was a Russian tanker that supplied Nome, Alaska, with oil this past winter. I am more than willing to buy products from other countries, just to break the current monopoly Washington State seems to have on Alaska.
