I think its an interesting since he's from one of the most violent neighborhoods in the country during its most violent period. I think we should actually debate the issue of gun control instead of just taking partisan positions (not saying that you are).

I'm open to both sides on gun control. I just want a safer community.

I'm all ears!

Oh just don't tell anyone with a narrow, fixed mindset that.

I have my own views on gun control, but I think the gun control debate is too hard to conduct on CD. There are a lot of people who like to relay their personal anecdotes as if these supercede any research data; there are people who genuinely don't know what they're talking about making posts like they have the "Holy Grail", etc.

This is a tough one. I'm a gun collector, and I think every liberal in this particular country should be armed to the teeth, given the far-right-wing administrations we've had since 1981. No doubt that the National Republican Rifle Association has been a poisonous, corrupting influence in American politics, too.

On the other hand, the paltry social safety net means more violence fighting for the scraps amongst the populace, and if guns are plentiful that means more gun deaths in the middle and working classes, including innocent bystanders.

On the other other hand, I feel safe walking around without my gun in New York City or in Canada, but not in Oklahoma or South Carolina or any other red state.

I care about what most people who have the bravery to speak up say even if I don't agree with them or share the same views.

I can tell you why many identify as democrat. They really think that the democrats are in their corner, and when you really think about it, the democrats, in my opinion, seem to be ONLY in it when a Treyvon Martin case happens. I used to be a democrat, then I changed to Independent.
