It's both funny and sad that the group of people who whine and complain about "blue states supporting red states" is exactly the same group that DEMANDS a larger federal government. Where the F do they think that will lead us? Do they ever use their heads?
So you admit the blue states support the red states? Well, that's a start.

A start to what? Did I "admit" something? I made a statement.

Why does everything have to be so damn confrontational?!?!!

I thought we were all Americans. If you want a large federal power, and less state power, and more "equality," then we're all just Americans, right? Why is it "red states vs. blue states"? Don't you want societal safety nets, nobody goes without <whatever>, etc.? How do you reconcile those views with the whole state vs. state mentality?

Does the hypocrisy never end???

Maybe if the government would stop stealing so much from people in red states to support blue states, people in red states wouldn't need to ask for money back.

Minorities are disproportionately clients of the welfare state, that's why. Larger minority populations as a percentage of state populations are the chief reason. After all 37% of welfare recipients nationally are African Americans compared to 12% of the overall population, so it doesn't take a great intuitive leap to realize that the higher the African American population is in a given state, the more Federal aid flows in. Among families receiving help from the Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC), 37% are black families, and 27% of Medicaid recipients are black. Mind you, I'm really not trying to be the bombthrower here, and I'm sure that some lazy idiot will throw the racism label around but that's just the statistical fact.

Plus the Red states tend to have a higher military presence, too. And most of NASA can be found in states such as Florida, Alabama, and Texas.
Yah...Illinois, Michigan and New York don't have many blacks there.
