I've noted this more than once. Trickle down does work when you are talking private enterprise. Someone starts a company, say one called Microsoft. Yes, they make a ton of money but they also provide for thousands of others.

Trickle down doesn't work for the government because they create nothing. They can only take from someone and give it to someone else.

The QE programs were government sanctioned trickle down programs that took from taxpayers in the form of inflation and pushed it upstream to investment banks and Wall Street among others.

No, that has not trickled back down. Many are calling for more QE. For those who argue against trickle down, I certainly hope you do not support those supporting more QE.

If trickle down worked, those tax breaks for the wealthy for the past 40yrs would eradicate unemployment rate. Trickle down is, was, and always will be, a trickle up and out scheme. Redistribution of the wealth by any other name???? Except when their Reagan messiah does it. The muther of all golden calf worshipers that never did have respect for the noble shoes of captains of industry, or the meticulously honed set of ethics that curbed Wall street excess. They abandoned all principles and put America as we knew it in a Chinese pawn shop.

You really have no clue!

Where do you think new businesses come from?

The guy who is now working for one of the businesses cited in the post you responded to, learns a trade. After he has mastered that trade MANY GO OUT OWN THERE OWN.

Every business depends on others to spend money.

Wow. The federal government has done A LOT of damage over the years.

From prolonging the Great Depression by at least a decade to forcing banks to their detriment to lend to poor credit risks.

Um... yeah. That post pretty much told us all that that particular poster doesn't pay any federal income tax. They would have known that if they did.

Keeping more of one's own money isn't redistributing anything. It's keeping what one has earned and already belongs to one.

Did Trickle Down Work?
Trickle down economics only works when their is actual trickle down. The big corporations, banks, insurance companies and businesses in the USA want the tax cuts and extra profits and use the excuse for huge tax cuts....... "trickle down economics" when in actual fact they do NOT pay their employees a decent wage or use the extra money to improve the workplace or give incentives to their employees or employ more people BUT they make sure that they put as much as humanly possible away for themselves. The banks who had stimulus money have not released funds or loanes to help small businesses but "shored" themselves up and saved themselves only.
Obama has it exactly right in today's America..... Prosperity will only happen if we cut tax and help the midde class and stop the top 1% accumulating obscene wealth on the backs of everyone else.
The top 1% must now pay their fair share and take the burden off the rest of America who are the only ones sacrificing anything.
YES..... trickle down economics can work but NOT in the greed filled board rooms of today's America who do NOT want to use the extra money from huge tax cuts and bailouts where it was meant to be used...... for the good of their employees, customers and America...... They want it just for themselves........... FACT!

Businesses do not hire for the simple sake of hiring or give money away just because.

This was all known before they were bailed out and enriched with the QE programs.
