OK. I detest Sarah Palin, and I think the outfit was ridiculous looking but let's break it down.

You do know, don't you, that the Superman motif was part of the campaign marketing strategy, right? So - in her defense, the shirt was definitely OK - it was meant to tie in directly to the theme of the event. I think it is a stupid theme - but it wasn't her idea of "hey, this looks good -think I'll wear THIS today!"

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/0...m_hp_ref=style

The pants? Well, it's cumulative. Black, slim capris? Hey, if you've got the figure for them, go for it - and she certainly does. They're not inappropriate or tacky or slutty - they just look quite - svelte. HOWEVER - were they a good choice along with the shirt? I don't know. What DO you wear with a Superman T shirt?

The shoes? COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS. Here's where she slid off the tracks completely - and she deserves to be made fun of for those monstrosities.

She reminds me of a political Lady Gaga. LORD HELP US ALL!

Men can show up to an event like that in a pair of khakis with their shirt sleeves rolled up and look great. It's not that easy for us--you look ridiculous if you're over dressed, but you can't be too casual or trendy either. Classic and a little sporty usually works best.

Agree 100%

Is she going for a Hollywood theme, first she wore her Sci-Fi ala Batman/The Matrix outfit, then she wore Eddie Murphy's 80's signature jacket

The leg length of the capris wasn't attractive on her either--the combination of the lower waist and the shorter cut chopped her body up (especially combined with those god awful shoes). If she'd picked a pair of capris that had a midrise--when they fall below the waist, but above the hips, if they had been a little longer, and a little looser, they would have made her look long, lean and stylish. It would have been perfect and classic. The belt and the shirt were tacky...if she would have worn a simple shirt and belt it would have been perfect.
Totally agree. Forget the fact that it was Palin wearing this. On anyone this would have been calamitous. This was absolutely a fashion "Dont" in the fashion dos and dont section of a fashion magazine. The pants were not the right length and the shoes...well, I am at a loss for words about those. Mary Tyler Moore (as Laura Petrie) was able to pull off the perfect capri style with a ballet type flat. Aways a classic look. The Superman shirt looked like it belonged to one of her kids. Palin would have been better off going for a retro style dress if she wanted to go more casual for this informal barbecue day. As another poster said, if Michelle Obama has worn this, it would be fodder for weeks...maybe even months...or years.

Palin's Superman logo T-shirt is a Steelman campaign top emblazoned with 'Our freedom. Our fight'

OMG, 10 pages worth of lib yowling about Sarah's outfit. Sarah knows how to have fun. Remember when she rode into a rally on the back of a Harley. How bout that outfit.

Sarah Palin Rides into Washington on a Harley - YouTube

There are a lot of uptight prigs on the left nowadays, who don't know how to have a lil fun. Sarah is 48 and still hot. I have a good friend at work who is in her 50's and still has the body of a hottie, just like Sarah. She's not a distance runner like Sarah but still takes good care of her body. She does not wear baggy burka-type outfits, thankfully, in spite of lefties who would doubtless demand that she 'dress her age.' Every guy in the company angles to work in her section just to be around her.

Here's a general rule for everyone to follow, male or female: If you're in your forties, fifties or beyond, don't try to dress like someone 20, 30, 40 years your junior. You will always look ridiculous and no one will think you are cool except other clueless middle-aged folks who are similarly struggling with the realization that they are getting old. There's nothing wrong with being 45 except if you try to look 25.

You prudes!

She was going for the MILF look, to get the male vote going for a Conservative woman, running for office.
