I think it's clear that what was most annoying about this particular business owner was his desire for bragging rights because he refused the Vice President's offer. You really think he didn't want publicity? LOL Nothing "pure" about that particular business owner. the Btw, when did business owners in this country become such gods to so many people? Does you adoration for business owners extend to those business owners in the porn industry, for example?

Business owners, you know, people who "made this" are more deserving of respect then the sleazeball politicians selling this country down the road to the highest bidders. Not gods but certainly more deserving of my admiration then almost anyone in government.
My conservative tolerance certainly doesn't lead me to desire someone lose their livelihood for standing up for their beliefs in a more respectable manner then leftist rioters or Occupy people.

I think most of those businesses hire TAXPAYER educated employees. The general public has been educating america's youth since long before government regulation and interference.

What are you going to do if the next "minority" in the WH is conservative? With as many blacks, latinos and others who are already in office right now who are conservative, it's just as possible for the next minority president to be conservative as it is for him to be liberal. So what are you going to do then? Are you going to support him as blindly as you support Obama? Or are you going to call him/her as vile names as the left has Allen West, Bobby Jindahl, Marco Rubio, and others?
The reality of it is, is Obama and his administration is NOT being disrespected any more so than any other president... especially Bush! But for some reason, because he's half Black, it's three times the insult. Give me a break!
The next minority will not be conservative. They cant get 100% support from their own party.
Like I stated previously in the thread, if he had just politely stated "no thank you" and moved on, then it'd be a non-issue. Instead the guy showed a complete lack of class parading around what he did to get attention. Then, of course, when he paraded his classless actions, people celebrated it.
It's merely a demonstration of how uncouth many people really are regarding politics. "Haha, you publicly snubbed the guy I don't like, lololololol".
Now, I don't want to see this guy out of business because of his actions directly to the VP. But his behaviour demonstrates qualities that are highly negative for a business owner. Making a spectacle of snubbing a potential customer is not exactly the smartest thing and can drive away customers. I wouldn't go to a business that publicly snubbed anyone (whether I agree with their political ideology or not) because if they're willing to be an outright jerk to a big name, there's a likelihood that the same attitude will be given to customers that they don't "like".

That education that tax dollars paid for. Tax dollars taken from we the people and of course businesses? The chicken or the egg? We can go round and round on this but what it really is yet another shot of class warfare. No one earned anything on their own without the all wise fed. If you paid your taxes, paid in more than you get in returns you don't owe squat. Now had he said this about welfare recipients, low income housing dwellers,politicians, churches, and foreign aid recipients I would have agreed.
Many countries dont have public funded schools and yet their businesses are thriving. Hmmm maybe the success isn't based on public education after all.
I can't believe that conservatives are actually happy with the lack of respect that was shown to our country's Vice President. What happened to showing respect for the office even if you disagree with the policies?
Fortunately, we still have choices in America. Choosing to not have a political circus in your store is not a lack of respect.
