Their campaign spokesman today admits they will cut 65-66 year olds out of Medicare.

So keep working till your 67, lazy worker!

( In fairness, Obama has signaled his willingness to cut your benefits as well. That's how crummy a choice Americans have today since corporate/elite interest have taken over)

The ONLY faction (and a small minority) in Congress looking out for your middle class interest are LIBERALS.

Being employed is not a requirement to possess health insurance. We raised the age for SS, so it only stands to reason we do the same for MC. We are living longer now than the 1930's/1960's and it is quite obvious we cannot afford to continue as we are.

But not all income levels have seen their life expectancy lengthen at the same rate...

"New government research has found “large and growing” disparities in life expectancy for richer and poorer Americans, paralleling the growth of income inequality in the last two decades."

"Life expectancy for the nation as a whole has increased, the researchers said, but affluent people have experienced greater gains, and this, in turn, has caused a widening gap."

I thought the SS age to get benfits were already raised for younger people to 67 because people are living longer.

Yes it was and in 6 month increments depending on when you were born.
But everyone can still go for early, reduced SS at 62.

Maybe they should do the same with medicare. Up the age slowly and offer reduced benefits at 65.

Actually the advisor didn't say that, the author of the article did after the fact.
Then again, ThinkProgress is not a bastion of objectivity, is it ?

At least they have a plan on the table. It's something to discuss and debate.

There is NOTHING coming from the Obama camp except cuts which they say is "spending less" to save money.

Income inequality is the greatest threat to our republic. We're reverting back to before the 1920s when unions were weak, people were crushed by poverty and abusive employers, etc. The Republicans need to be removed from office via the voting booth ballot, just as a cancerous tumor must be removed.
