There was a thread about a week or two ago with a picture of these miners.

Ohio Union Workers Turn on Obama

The OP in that thread was trying to make the case that miners are standing with Romney because Obama is "anti-coal."

Now we know that other thread was BS.
Now that we read the link, it turns out that THIS story is bogus....and from a BIASED source:

"Raw Story is a progressive news site that focuses on stories often ignored in the mainstream media."

Either way, the manager admitted that attedance was "mandatory" but no one was forced to attend. Sounds like the usual "You have to do this but we can't make you do it...wink wink, nudge nudge" type corporate crap many are forced to endure these days.

Unions do it all the time.

Actually, he said SOME managers (not all) had told their employees that.

We've got literally hundreds of instances where UNIONS actually DO FORCE their members to attend Democratic events anyhow.

So you have no problem with people being forced to go to a Romney campaign gathering because the "unions" do it too?

Perhaps you need to re-read what I actually have said in their thread.....

They weren't FORCED to attend.

Liberal outrage is again just blather because Liberals don't get outraged when Unions DO force their members to attend such things.

Any site that disagrees with your version is a "bogus" and "biased site." But where did your thread: Ohio Union Workers Turn on Obama get those pictures? You made no citation at all.

Let's face it, every thread that you post on CD is littered with propaganda, misinformation and distortions -- then, when called out, you claim direct quotes from the corporate management are "bogus." How do you know? Where you standing next to the manager as he spoke to the reporter?

You can mince words all you like.

Attendance was mandatory according to corporate management. In my company, leaving the building during a fire drill is mandatory. Nobody will force you to leave but if you don't, you will be suspended for violating a direct order.

Likewise, nobody was going to drag the miners if they refuses but it's clear what "mandatory" meant.

Ummmm...except that the only person saying it was mandatory is an un-named source and the Corporate Management actually says that the accusation is FALSE in the article.

Murray Energy Chief Financial Officer Rob Moore told Blomquist that the charges were untrue.

Perhaps you should brush up on your reading skills:
Quote:
Murray Energy Chief Financial Officer Rob Moore told Blomquist that the charges were untrue.

“There were no workers that were forced to attend the event,” Moore said. “We had managers that communicated to our work force that the attendance at the Romney event was mandatory, but no one was forced to attend the event. We had a pre-registration list. And employees were asked to put their names on a pre-registration list because they could not get into the event unless they were pre-registered and had a name tag to enter the premises.”
Blomquist is the WWVA radio host.

Murray Energy Chief Financial Officer Rob Moore in saying it was "untrue" confirmed that attendance at the Romney event was mandatory, which makes the claim TRUE.
