WASHINGTON, D.C. -- A solid majority of Americans think the U.S. government should approve of building the Keystone XL pipeline, while 29% think it should not.

Americans Favor Keystone XL Pipeline

(for when you get questioned)

A huge majority of Americans want a lot of sh*t. Doesn't mean that it makes sense. Doing things based on majority opinion can be incredibly stupid. That's why we're supposed to elect legislators to make decisions based on common sense, and not based on the opinions of the boobwahzee idiots in line at Walmart.

Canada has water on 3 sides. Let them run the pipeline across their own territory.

He said that everybody was in line with it, even British Columbia, except Nebraska and it was them that was holding it back. The top speaker at the DNC till Obama gets up, unless you see Clinton as the top man, says that it is Nebraska that is holding the thing back. I wonder who is telling the truth.
We the people do not want it, regardless of what our governments say...

Check out where six of these folks come from. Mmmm.

Board of Directors - Enbridge Inc.

One of them you Michigonians will even rcognize as a past governor. It aint as though it's some evil Canadian conspiracy operating here.

The deals were made with Texas gulf coast refineries who spent big money upgrading their refineries to handle this slop and which made this pipline economicly feasible.

So in summation; the U.S. oil upgraders wanted it, and signed contracts to buy it to upgrade it and export it and Enbridge invested heavily into providing it. Nebraska blocked the route, the route got changed in a subsequent submission to miss the aquifer in question but now you're into your election year and NOTHING gets addressed during one of those, so it will sit until one of the elected "haircuts" makes a final decision.

Canadian citizens aren't "pushing" anything onto you. Just keep saying no and it will all become a moot point. Making it into an us against them with big bad Canada a boogyman seems a little childish. The average Canadian citizen couldn't give a rat's patoot if we sell it to you or whoever. It'll get sold regardless, too much demand for it to just let it stay in the ground.

Warren Buffet bought a rail company because it is transporting that chit south, so he put his money on the right horse for the time being didn't he? That's business.

The pipeline not getting built results in a bunch of folks who jumped the gun losing their investment. Not the first time that's happened is it? Enbridge's history of compliance and response would be enough for me to deny the opportunity to them.

We didn't "threaten" to sell to the Chinese; we "announced" we are selling to the Chinese. Your own press put that 'threaten' spin on it. We would sell to whoever in any case regardless if the pipeline gets built or not. You're not the only market for the gloop and you cannot possibly handle all of it anyway.

As an aside; Canada recently turned down an attempt by China to purchase a major portion of a Canadian Oil company.

Given that it was such a GREAT idea to block this pipeline project and SO much in the interest of the American (and Canadian) people....lets see if the Dems make it a keynote part of the convention tomorrow.

Oh boy; I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on that! They just want to put it all behind them.

I caught your implication immediately
