Yes it's always the Republicans who are expected to compromise. To a democrat compromise means "you do it my way". Everyone in the country saw how democrats compromise when they had full control of the government, completely excluding the republicans, and we saw how they "compromised" when they lost the house by completely refusing to consider or vote on any republican bill in the Senate.
Democrats are the ones who need to learn to compromise. You would think they would have learned that lesson after the 2010 election, but clearly some are slow learners.
The democrats compromise more than you think. If they didn't, Obamacare would've included the public option.
Unless the Republican's want to learn to compromise and work with the POTUS and the democrats in congress they are contributing to their own doom in 2016 and beyond. The better tactic would be to work towards compromise and get the nation back on track, which is what the majority of Americans want. Partisan politics might be a fun and game on capitol hill, but it doesn't play well with middle class America, nor will it in the next 4 years. There's a reason Congress has a 13% approval rating, which is a high in recent years.
Do you not understand that compromise, in Obama's definition, is my way or the highway. He gave up on compromise as soon as he failed to get his way the first time in 2011. Seriously, I don't think anybody has ever tried to define the word to him.
I would hope so, but doubt it, the game is more important to some than the Nation. FYI, the Senate would work no better with Romney than the House has worked with Obama. Is what it Is.
Another Democrat idiot admits that he doesn't know what the definition of compromise is. Then he admits that letting the Bush-Obama tax cuts expire will not result in tax raises for all of us. That is pure Democrat hard work to convince people that my taxes won't go up about $2000 although my Social Security may well drop.

Before the poster thinks again, maybe you ought to check into how many of those bills were ever discussed in the Senate, no matter what they were about.
The Republicans created a gridlock for obvious political reasons. If Obama gets a second term, would they work with him in that he, Obama, has nothing to gain politically since he bagged his re-election bid?
However, the Republicans will continue to thwart progress. Republican vindictiveness far outweighs their motivation to work toward the betterment of the People of the USA.
Still, I will settle for another 4-year stalemate over a Romney regime and movement which is in the wrong direction. Change takes time.
Lets see. Romney would be a movement in the wrong direction and a heavy majority of American voters say we are headed the wrong way now. I guess the race to the cliff is all we have left and after getting threats of being dropped from AA to AA- maybe we do have an indication that nothing we do will dig us out of this hole.

Too much power in one person (either party). There's obstruction on both sides, sometimes not for honorable or noble reasons.
