This recession has woken up many apathetic Americans, so all you liberal elites and neocons in your ivory towers better start making contingency plans.
Contingency plans for WHAT?

Some imagined "The Sky is Falling" scenario?

If somebody makes an argument that you don't have the intellectual capacity to rebut, resort to ad Hominem attacks, poison the well by labeling the opinion/arguer as extreme/radical, and avoid addressing the argument altogether. What a great formula for "tolerance" and "understanding". It looks like government schools are accomplishing their mission.

So you insult me and call me an elitist and back up your assaults with more insults? Please, its paranoid morons like you that will only worsen the situation by starting a holy war over imaginary friends.

Secularism is the only thing that can prevent the depravities of Abrahamic religion. Secularism is the only thing that separates Europe from the Middle East, without it Protestants and Catholics would be killing each other like they did 300-500 years ago, burning witches, and seeking to destroy all other Non-Christian cultures like they did in the New World.

Abandoning secularism would put Radical Christianity on the same footing as Radical Islam, in place of the neutered form in which Christianity exists now.

Which of your randomly selected classes did you get all that from?

3. The secularist dogma of non-discrimination makes it impossible to resist Islam on religious grounds.

4. Secularists in historically Christian nations make common cause with Islam because it dilutes Christian influence.

5. Secularism is a worldly, hedonistic ideology. When Islamists gain enough power to present secularists with a choice - "convert, or lose all of your worldly advantages!" - secularists will convert.
Incurably religious or incurably gullible and superstitious? Whichever, the sheer numbers make a strong case for one or the other.

But some of us are fortunate enough to have never come down with the disease.

The ones that taught real history, particularly on Early Modern Europe.

Thirty Years' War - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History...1%E2%80%931801)
Witch trials in the Early Modern period - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Spanish conquest of the Inca Empire - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

And guess what all this stuff stopped with the enlightenment which was the first great advance of secularism.

The two are absolutely entangled. How can you have individual liberty without a government that is purely neutral on religion?

Pilgrim is right. Just look at all of the "personal rights" the secular progressives have created; how they are worship as inviolate. In fact, the same type - minus the violence so far - of rage at perceived denial or offense (Chick-fil-A as a recent example), is evident in both the Muslim religion and the quasi-religion of secular progressivism.
