Criminey, Burdell, read a little history that isn't post-1960s secularist propaganda.

The First Amendment was only passed because it protected the established churches in several states. We had legal, established churches in this country until 1833 - forty-six years after the Constitution was ratified - when Massachusetts disestablished the Congregationalists.

That's one example. Do you need more?

Another little tidbit. President Jefferson, who was not known as a friend of Catholicism, nevertheless authorized federal funds to support Catholic missionaries to the Indians in the newly acquired Louisiana Territory. That's Thomas "Separation of Church and State" Jefferson spending federal dollars to covert people to Christianity.

This was followed by the Indian Civilization Fund Act in 1819, under President Madison, which largely funded Protestant missionaries.

Maybe the First Amendment doesn't mean what you think it means.

Has it occurred to you that even if this were so, it would not make the Christian myth a bit more true?

They have no depth of understanding whatsoever why democracy has never existed in those nations. They have no understanding of those cultures, of the true nature of Islam. And they have no understanding of democracy or how it comes about.

They were so very very proud of their "Arab Spring" just a few months ago. Now look how many thousands of people are being killed.
They don't care. It's not about bringing peace and democracy, it's about western imperialism. Marching east - FORWARD

I'm happy I haven't spent my life with my head muddled up by religion. No matter what you think is going to happend to you when you die, life here is still going to be the same. We fight about WHAT HAPPENS AFTER WE DIE and ruin the lives we have now...can't think of anything stupider to be honest.

Nevermind the atheistic bloodbaths of the 20th century. Ever hear of Robespierre? Napoleon? Bismark?
3/5th of Germany's population was wiped out during the wars of Religion and Christian differences were the justification for subjecting Ireland to 300 years of rape, murder and starvation. Furthermore they did not call it the Dark Ages because people were civilized, Christianity sought to do away with the centuries old traditions that had made Greece and Rome civilized and when they were successful the result was centuries of rule by illiterate chieftains who could not even read the very texts they sought to propagate. If anything I will take the enlightenment any day over the barbarism of the Dark ages.

Whatever was good and wholesome - or even harmless - in the pre-Christian cultures of Latin America remains today. However, the conquistadors had to break the back of the bloody, cruel, and inhuman paganism whose rituals centered on the worship of demons with an insatiable appetite for human sacrifices. And by doing so we all owe them a debt of gratitude.
Catholics and Protestants sought to utterly destroy the Civilizations of the New World. The Maya were the Ancient Greeks of the New World. They had sophisticated science, culture, arts and writings. The Catholics spend 150 years painstakingly trying to completely eradicate their culture. Only a few books survived. It was Barbarism of the highest order plain and simple. We owe the Conquistados no more graditude then we do the Huns and Goths. The fact that you can say that it was justified to enslave entire civilizations principally for silver mining and slaughter cities of hundreds of thousand of people like Tenochtitlan simply because they were Pagans is a demonstration of the barbarism people are capable of justifying in the name of Christianity egro why it is so depraved when left unchecked.

The only reasons the Catholics were successful was because of steel, horses and small pox.

You linked a picture of the French Revolution...This is what your version of Christianity would give us.
