First off, I understand that the world isn't black and white, and "liberal" isn't an all-encompassing term. I am strictly generalizing based on the observation of a large number of liberals I have come into contact with.

Here is my question: Why do liberals preach "tolerance" towards Islam, for instance, and rabidly denounce and denigrate conservative people/positions as "racist", "sexist", "intolerant", "evil", etc. instead of accepting that there are more than just one perspective, not just the liberal perspective.

Is it because recruiting minorities, whether religious or ethnic, is a means of gaining more power to further their Progressive (in my opinion, communist) agenda? Or are there other explanations behind this blatant hypocrisy when it comes to being "open-minded"?

Maybe what you're really noticing is an intolerance for intolerance.

Accepting bad behavior is in no way "open minded."

So why do liberals voraciously defend cultures that don't respect the rights of homosexuals, women, and religious minorities?

Is "intolerance" exclusive to conservatives?

Most liberals I know (younger people) have no tolerance for Islamists. None.

No tolerance for theocracy, or the desire of people to force their religious morality and laws upon society that should be free (be it Christian, Islam, Judaism or other)

Open minded means you are willing to consider other ideas or points of views, doesn't mean you HAVE to agree with them. I'm open minded when it comes to music, doesn't mean I like all styles of music or every band.

I thought the definition was pretty obvious.

Liberal open mindedness is the same thing as conservative closed mindedness... If you don't agree with my all mighty opinion, you're wrong.
