This was a landslide election win.

Tea party darling Cruz wins Texas' US Senate race - SFGate

Texas overwhelmingly elected tea party-backed Republican Ted Cruz to the U.S. Senate on Tuesday, completing the former state solicitor general's once seemingly impossible rise from virtual unknown to the first Hispanic to represent the Lone Star State in the Senate.

Don't be so glum -- this guy may just stand up for what's right and get Obama to accept some spending cuts.

Cruz has vowed to limit spending and shrink the size of government and promised to do so again during his victory speech in Houston, saying four more years with President Barack Obama "will be challenging indeed."

Tea party douchebag Ryan criticized the stimulus, only to ask money from it.
And raise the spending which is against the Tea Party principles. If it walks like a cow and barks like a dog, it's not a duck.

Another example of when people say TX will turn blue, I tell them they don't know Texas. It really is like a "whole other country." Hispanics rising in the conservative party platforms. The mayor of the state's largest city is a fiscal conservative yet openly gay. There is a Dem black female candidate whose platform is impeach Obama. The usual rules just don't apply. Expect more like this.

Regardless of party, do you believe a politician's word?

Maybe this one's word. If he sticks to his guns he could go far - and now birth place is not an obstacle to becoming president.

If. That is the key word.

Also, being born in the United States is still a requirement.
