I honestly don't know why. Is there some kind of regulation that the employees have to be part time a year out? Why is he cutting hours now, when the law is not in effect? If I missed some explanation that's pertinent, somebody fill me in please.

Florida based restaurant boss John Metz, who runs approximately 40 Denny's and owns the Hurricane Grill & Wings franchise has decided to offset that by adding a five percent surcharge to customers' bills and will reduce his employees' hours.
With Obamacare due to be fully implemented in January 2014, Metz has justified his move by claiming it is 'the only alternative. I've got to pass on the cost to the customer.'
The fast-food business owner is set to hold meetings at his restaurants in December where he will tell employees, 'that because of Obamacare, we are going to be cutting front-of-the-house employees to under 30 hours, effective immediately.'

Your BS post qualifies.
Denny's is doing NOTHING, a disgruntled Denny's franchisee, instead of holding his breath 'til he turns blue like many babies will when he doesn't get his own way is taking out his whiny frustrations on others, what a self-Righteous POS.
If he's cutting his employees' hours to avoid providing them the benefits of Obamacare, AND he's increasing his prices to cover the costs of the benefits of Obamacare, then HE's the one benefiting, isn't he? He's not paying to provide those benefits, but he's collecting the money anyway?????
You have to pay the fines and cost of litigation somehow.

StuporStar indeed
Oh, so it's just ONE dude who for some reason is cutting everyone's hours "effective immediately" because of a law that doesn't go into action until 2014?
Anybody know why he's cutting their hours in 2012? Wouldn't be some kind of arse backwards publicity fake cry baby stunt now would it?
A) The owner has said he is cutting his employees' hours so they don't qualify for benefits such as health care. B) He is simultaneously claiming he needs to raise his prices to pay for benefits he isn't going to provide to his employees (see A).
Therefore, the only conclusion is that the owner is just a right wing sore loser who is lining his pockets by raising prices and trying to blame it on Obama.

What fines and costs of litigation?
He says he's cutting people's hours. He's not cutting their hours to avoid paying overtime. He's cutting their hours so that he's not legally required to provide healthcare benefits. There's no fines or cost of litigation for doing something legal.
And since he's avoiding Obamacare increases in his costs, he has no reason to raise his prices. But he's raising them, anyway. And rather than tell customers he's raising them to increase his profit margin, he's blaming the price increases on government policies. Even though he's avoiding being subject to those government policies.
In other words, he's lying. In order to pad his pockets.
With this *******, what's that bring the total to so far? Has the number of food-service and restaurant establishments which have thrown these hissy-fits reached a tenth of a percent of the total yet?
Someone set an alarm and notify me when it reaches 50%. Or even 5%.
