....The USDA report
http://www.fns.usda.gov/ora/MENU/Pub...cteristics.pdf

This should put it to rest

The most recent Department of Agriculture report on the general characteristics of the SNAP program’s beneficiaries says that in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, 2010:

47 percent of beneficiaries were children under age 18.
8 percent were age 60 or older.
41 percent lived in a household with earnings from a job — the so-called “working poor.”
The average household received a monthly benefit of $287.
36 percent were white (non-Hispanic), 22 percent were African American (non-Hispanic) and 10 percent were Hispanic

Its good you posted the stats, but the people who malign those who get food stamps don't care that a huge percentage have a working person in the household. They don't care that most of the benefits go to children and the elderly.

Wow, and all this time people kept saying that there were more blacks on foodstamps than whites?

Thank you for that revelation and documentation, we can finally put that lie to rest.

If you're trying to make the point that more whites receive food stamps then you need to sharpen up on the math skills a little. As a total of the population yes they do but tht is to be expected since they make up a large percentage of the total population.

There is much larger percentage of black population itself on foodstamps.

Let's say we have a population of 10 people, there is two blacks in this population and 8 whites. 1 black person is on food stamps and 2 whites are on food stamps. 66% of the food stamps would be going to whites and 33% of the foodstamps would be going to blacks, these numbers would be analogical to those in this report.

The number you're not comprehending is 50% of the black population is on food stamps and only 25% of the white population is on food stamps in this example.

Really don't think it matters who is or is not.

Point being, we have more people on welfare now, then any other time ever. Getting worse. More children living in poverty infact 20%, more people collecting welfare, who never in their life, dreamt that they would be in this predictiment.

It is a sad situation overall, no matter who is in this predictiment.
