It's mostly because Americans do not care about Palestinians or Arabs in general. We spent the last century radicalizing them, and to ignorant Americans they are too 'different', not like exalted Jewish Israel which many American Christians see as important in their eschatological vision or like their 'normal' Jewish friends who assure them that there is no systematic oppression and genocide, and that it would instead be them.

Since there are so many threads started by fake "human rights" advocates against Israel, I thought one that discusses the racism and ethnic cleansing being conducted by arab muslims over the last several centuries all the way to current day would provide some perspective.
There are a large number of groups who long pre-date the arab muslims in the mideast, who the arabs are nonetheless, trying to oppress, murder, terrorize, or ethnically cleanse out of the middle east, just as they did to the jews from their countries from 1947 through 1963.
The chaldeans, for example, are an excellent example of a group who is being relentless oppressed by arab muslims:
"The situation of the Chaldo-Assyrian community in Iraq has been described as very difficult. Their members and churches are frequently threatened by both religiously and ethnically motivated attacks by Arab Sunni and Shia Muslim fundamentalists, Kurdish nationalist extremists and criminal gangs."
Other groups also being mistreated include the Assyrians, Maronites, Kurds, Coptics, Bahai, Azeri, and Orthodox Christians, but there are others.
It is interesting that most of you have never heard of most of these groups, or maybe just a few of them, yet the dreadful filth that passes for the news media in the US and Europe only prefer to focus on the jews, who are the only group, perhaps besides the kurds, who have chosen to stand their ground and fight.
Given the horrific racism and ethnic cleansing/destruction meted out by the arab muslims across the mideast and africa, it boggles the mind that anyone sane could possibly be complaining about israel's presence in the west bank, while arab muslims are literally oppressing and slaughtering millions, wiping out whole civilizations.
When are we going to see the so-called "human rights" organizations, unions and churches conduct BDS campaigns against the arab muslims?
You started to go in a good direction, and then went in a bad one.
I think that the biggest problem with all of the media, and the general "debate" over the middle east, is that nobody can bring themselves to be rational and call a square a square and a circle a circle.
Let's use Israel as an example, because it works well.
The facts are the facts... the UN mandate in 1948 gave Palestinian Arab lands to Jews. This is a fact. No real historian will dispute this. The UN was not elected by any Palestinian, nor any Jew, and yet, their lives were all changed in some way by it. The Jews went on a land-grab campaign and forced the Palestinians out of their own lands in, what is known in the "Arab world" as The Nakba. This, again, is undisputed. Even the United States government, the UN, and all of the pro-Zionist groups acknowledge that eighty percent of the Palestinian population are either refugees, or descendants of them. From 1947 to 1949, Jewish Israeli territory increased 20 fold. This, again, is not disputed.
Following this, the Palestinians began to engage in what we would call, today, terrorist acts. They attacked innocent Israeli civilians, who also attacked innocent Palestinians civilians, and the waters of the conflict were muddied. Then came the 1967 war which, again, was a giant Israeli-government land grab. The proceeding occupation has basically turned Gaza into an open-air concentration camp, and the West Bank settlements have been built on land seized by the Israeli equivalent of imminent domain. Again, none of these facts are in dispute.
Hamas has, reactionarily, sent suicide bombers, fired rockets, and kidnapped civilian targets. This is completely and totally wrong. Violence is never right. Israel, however, has done the same. Neither side is not guilty, and to say that the Jews "stand and fought" is a total misrepresentation of the situation.
In this recent situation, for instance, I recently heard a report on Fox News. It went something like this:
Hamas continues to fire rockets at Israeli civilian targets. At least one Israeli civilian has been killed, and over a dozen wounded. Israeli officials have vowed to step up their campaign against Hamas targets until the rocket fire has ceased.
This is a ridiculous narration of what has actually happened, though.
This, for instance, would be objective:
A rogue faction of Hamas kidnapped and killed 3 Israeli teens. Shin Bet forces raided over 4,000 Palestinian homes in retaliation, under the pretext of attempting to find the bodies. Jewish Israeli civilians held protests in the streets shouting "Death to Arabs!," while Palestinian Arabs held comparable demonstrations shouting "Death to Jews!" It was later revealed that the Shin Bet knew all along that the boys were dead, and where they were buried. In return, Hamas fired rockets at civilian targets, which was both violent and wrong. Something like three or four injuries were reported in the first few days of rocket fire. By yesterday, over a dozen Israeli civilians were injured, and one was dead. Israel, meanwhile, launched a bombing campaign against Gaza, which has killed over 100 civilians, 40 something of which were children. It's been openly admitted by the Israeli government, through statements published in Haaretz, that they've killed a dozen or so Hamas militants in the bombing campaign.
THAT would be objective. The facts of the case are presented openly and objectively. Hamas is wrong, they are a terrorist organization. Same with the IDF. The only reason our government does not call them "terrorists" is because they are a.) our friends and b.) state actors. Terrorists are considered non-state actors according to official definitions.
What I'd like to point out, however, is that most of these horrible things occur at the behest of governments around the world. Hamas and Israel are both governments, and both do terrible things. When was the last time that a private actor started a war, or initiated a pogrom, or engaged in ethnic cleansing?
And one more thing, the ethnic cleansing of Baghdad under the Bada Brigades and the Maadi Army was done 100% with the help of the U.S. military, who are therefore also responsible for ethnic cleansing.
Violence is bad everywhere, and to deduce violent actions of a friendly side as "standing their ground" is ridiculous. The Kurds, you're right, have stood their ground. But they too have targeted civilian populations and their government is no less evil than any other.
People ought to condemn violence no matter who does it, and be objective in reporting. In our distilled American narrative, EVERYTHING Israel does is defensive, and NOTHING Hamas does is for any reason other than "terrorism." Only an idiot would believe these are true.
But you're right, though, ethnic cleansing is a nasty habit among Middle Eastern cultures. It's wrong everywhere, for everyone to do. Let's condemn all violence equally.
