Oh, wait Agenda 21 is just a non-binding, voluntarily implemented plan of the United Nations. Seriously, they have trouble implementing a pizza night at a Ramada Inn.

I think we're safe...
Check out how many American cities are ICLEIs.

Here's a handbook from the left-wing loons out in Seattle.

Oh wow, look at these radical measures...

Quote:
Government Measures
Short Term
Plant shade trees in and around local government parking lots and facilities

Long Term
Co-locate facilities to reduce travel timeand maximize building use
Utilize brownfield sites where possible

Community Measures
Short Term

Maintain healthy urban forests and street trees
Promote tree planting to increase shading and to absorb CO2

Long term
Preserve open space
Promote high-density and in-fill development through zoning policies
Institute growth boundaries, ordinances or programs to limit suburban sprawl
Give incentives and bonuses for development in existing downtown areas and areas near public transit
Encourage brownfield development
Discourage sprawl through impact, facility, mitigation, and permit fees
So cities will try to discourage sprawl and preserve green spaces and build denser development closer in to city centers... Been going on in most forward looking cities around the world for some time now.

Holy s**t, they want to plant trees? What kind of crazy Orwellian nightmare is that?

Local government, residents and businesses can profit from the development of dense, mixed use neighborhoods. These measures save green spaces and money by cutting fuel, utility and
infrastructure, and service delivery costs.
People need to understand what Agenda 21 is actually aiming to do and why this is BAD for America. People also need to understand that this is very much REAL and very much not only happening, but already deeply entrenched in our LOCAL governments.

What does the above paragraph, excerpted from the U.S. Mayor's handbook I linked above, mean to YOU? I know what it means to me. It means social manipulation and clustering of Americans in cities and clustering the population centers tightly together. It means making life in the suburbs or rural areas so expensive as to be untenable so that .gov can claim the land for "environmental protection" provisions. It means handing over our water and land resources to the UN to be redistributed.

I, for one, NEVER want to live in a city. NEVER. As an American, I never thought living in the suburbs or country would make me or my children "outliers". Apparently, the UN has deemed such a lifestyle "unsustainable" for the plant.

Well here's what I say, FU UN! You should have fallen into the East River with Hurricane Sandy! And FU to every Mayor or city council member who buys into this commie enviro-BS.

And what gives the UN the RIGHT to attempt to LIMIT suburban sprawl? Who the hell is the UN to attempt to interfere with property ownership in the United States of America?

I love the jokesters with the "tin foil hat" jabs... They need to be overtly slammed to the ground, cuffed and thrown in a gas chamber to be convinced that the government doesn't really care about them.

Apathy is death.

What a way to gloss over "sustainable development".....

Judging by your concern to look beneath the surface....I'd hate to see what your mortgage looks like.
