Not a bad poll. I'm as pro-gun as they get, but wen't with "don't know", because we simply don't. More guns in the hands of the law abiding are a deterrent to crime, and could potentially end a mass shooting, saving lives. On the other hand, we have to be honest, several hundred accidental gun deaths occur every year.
The number of guns in the hands of law abiding citizens has increased dramatically in recent years. Far more people have concealed carry permits than ever. And violent crime is dropping. However... correlation doesn't prove causation.
In honesty, more guns in the hands of law abiding people will probably have little impact one way or the other. If we want gun deaths to drop, we need a cultural change, one less tolerant of violence and a willingness to stand up to evil.
And how would that be accomplished? I can't imagine forcing a country that cherishes freedom to change it's culture.

How would less tolerance of violence have stopped any of the mass shootings in recent years? And standing up to evil? That would mean arming more Americans and encouraging them to shoot back, I guess. Otherwise, I'm not sure what you mean.
Legally armed/licensed citizens that will defend the good of this country... Because once the bad guys know no one can stop- everyone's good as dead.
