Funny, when there was talk about giving the seat to someone else, the Lefties went on attack about the GOP only giving the seats to "old white guys" and even suggested that Haley should appoint Scott. Now that it happened, they are changing their tune and vilifying the move.

This black man was only elected in 2010 and the Repub party is in very serious need of expanding their chromatic range beyond various shades of white. Jindal recently proclaimed that contraceptives should be purchased over-the-counter without prescription. Are Repubs going to next approve of legal marijuana, gay rights, on-demand abortion?

It should be noted that in most cases White Americans and in particular Southern White Americans don't vote for Black people in the Senate.
Well, the first black Senator in the country after Reconstruction was Sen Brooke of Massachusetts followed by Sens Obama and Carol Mosely-Braun, both of Illinois. And they were ELECTED, not SELECTED.
Repubs tend to do better when their dumbed -down candidates are selected by another politician or the Supreme Court of the US.
