But we rugged individualists here in the U.S. of A. are too proud and independent and stubborn and free for that.
Civility should require personal responsibility from the earliest learning in life to those who lead by example.

Good Grief, people! How much more plain does it need to be to soak into your pea-sized brains?

There is practically no parental control in today's dysfunctional homes. Don't blame Hollywood, et al. You can't fault them for wanting to make a living. If parents would institute a smack-down on their kids watching crap, Hollywod would stop making it. They would find a better way to become a 1%'er.

And for those complete brain deads, note the 'et al'. It' not just Hollywood. And Hollywood, et al, is SECONDARY.

It starts with the parents. Both parents. If you're gonna spew them out, control, dicipline, and guide them. That's assuming you know how. We may already be a couple of generations too late.

It started with O'Hare and Spock. Who didn't see this coming??? Stupid, stupid America.

You can blame the lack of parental responsibility when 2 parents have to work full time jobs just to be able to pay the mortgage/car lease or loan off. You can blame the fact that while the ceo's get richer the average american workers pay gets either lower or stays the same. The reason why back in the day the mom would be able to stay home and look after the kids is simply because we were getting more bang for our buck where the father may have only been making say $20 a week at least his money went further. Now $20 is nothing and is more likely to go within an hour, we have stagnant wages and longer working hours to blame for this.

So back when guns were freely sold in the 1920's, and life wasn't worth much, till today with our half assed gun laws we are safer??

Really??!!??

I think morality is simple - harmless productive people are good, harmful destructive people are bad.

Those who want to TAKE their needs from harmless productive people do not wish to be impeded by such things like guns that can kill or maim them. They prefer disarmed prey.

Now, if you're arguing for the predator, that's a strange place to raise a "moral" flag.... unless your law is the law of the jungle.

Frankly, let's encourage universal firearms education and arming of all Americans. Cut out the "Gun free zone" crap.

And think of the benefits when school teachers are packing assault rifles - less backtalk from the students. (just joking)

And, no, you can't expect government to "protect everyone". In fact, you cannot sue the government or the police for "failure to protect". Ultimately, it is your responsibility.

Seems like, ever since hyper active school kids, or just fidgety kids, were pumped full of drugs, and the feminization of boys in our schools and society started in the 1970s, we have been seeing a few of these kids flip out like this latest school attack.

Back in the 1970's kids would drive to school with a gun rack mounted in their truck. Even when they got into fights with other students you never heard of a kid going to "get his gun" to get revenge.

Bullhockey!

Back then, kids didn't stomp and whine for the latest gadgets. People didn't need 2 jobs because they lived with what they had and didn't worry about what everbody else had. I'm thinking you are probably very young and don't have a clue.

God forbid any proponent of Assault Weapon Ownership would be shot by, or worse, lose a loved one to a weapon whose only purpose is to fight wars.

That 20 innocent children lost their lives under a barrage of Assault Weapon fired bullets is due cause to enact federal laws prohibiting the sale and ownership of these weapons.

May their deaths not be cast aside in exchange for upholding someone's so-called "right" to own weapons of war in a civil society.

RIP. . .little children.

unfortunately, it's easier to blame Hollywood, and other external influences then to blame the parenting.
