Awww... Did that picture bother you all? But I guess it's okay for others to post images of dead kids and burning buildings in this thread. That's okay, I took it down for you folks. Don't want to scar anyone with a one shot one kill photo. Especially seeing as though I didn't have to resort to a 30 rd clip of copper clad ammo to get the job done. I don't want to tarnish the image of a real sportsman using only the most sophisticated of armament to harvest game. Never mind the fact that deer was dead before it hit the ground.
Maybe this is better? Humanely dispatched hogs with a .38 to the head. I made sure to post a pic after their heads were cut off and hides scraped so as not to offend anyone.
Maybe my pal shooting his boar with an SA .44 mag Vaquero? See- no blood. And only one shot!
Or my dispatching a rabid fox with my Matthews bow? (I used two just to make sure).
Which one is okay? Maybe the kids mowed down in Newtown?
Which standard do I apply?..
(Sigh) Still, you deflect from the real issue. Look man, I'm hardly a pansy when it comes to dealing with death. Both from violence and natural means. Thinvs I have been forced to deal with and in the field, hunting, have hardened me. Thing is, there are a LOT of people who do not have that aquired quality. It's not ME you affected with your premise belicose and braggadocio posting. It's them, and, subsequently, your "sporting arms".
I do not use my semi auto service rifle to hunt game. As I said, it does see use as a varmint rifle, and no, I don't need a 30permit round mag to get the job done. I have the hi cap stuff for competitive use. And, I have NOTHINV to prove, to anyone, how well I handle my weapons. Now, do you think the average person sees an instantly fatal shot in your trophy pi, or a seriously messed up animal with a traumatic wound? This, coupled with a braggart "bubba" showcasing his "hunting skill"?
My AR gets used in service as well as tactical competition. It is quite capable of putting 5 rounds in under two inches at 200yds. It's not a bullet hose. Which you insist on maintaining all such rifles are. Your scope is very narrow, and you are not thinking your opinions through.
I do understand your misconceptions, but, your furtherance of them is hurting us all.
But we are a pretty large country with plenty of money or easy credit for purchases of guns and plenty of violent people who hate each other sooo..it makes sense we are all of the above.
We probably have more cars, more highways, more cable tv, etc. etc. as well.

It is also intended to mislead you. They are comparing the total number of deaths by firearm, not on a per capita basis. Since the US is the third most populated country on the planet, it will naturally have more deaths by firearm than any other nation, except China and India. On a per capita basis, the US has fewer deaths by firearm than most European nations, even though those European nations have strict gun control.

Give them a break(no don't just being sarcastic) math along with reason, logic, and common sense is not their forte.

Good for you!
I don't use my AR 15 for hunting. Even the people that do you do realize do not empty their entire 30 rd magazine in to their prey don't you?
You know why I own an AR 15 with a 30 rd magazine? The answer is pretty simple....BECAUSE I CAN, it's my Right. STANDARD capacity, 30 rd magazines { not high capacity magazines ] have several valid uses. They are great for competition, and some use them for self defense purposes. They would be especially useful in a situation where there were multiple attackers. I use a 12 ga. for self defense purposes, but hey, to each their own. I have no right to tell someone else that they don't need a gun with thirty rd's in it for self defense, and neither do you.
