I say no but after reading this bit I am thinking that it could be done if enough people are willing to allow it to happen. Yes, after another week or two the furor will die down but when the Congress critters get back to work some really foolish bills will be introduced and we have learned just how well they read what they vote for or against. I know that most here don't think this could be done because we have a Constitution and a 2nd Amendment. Think for a bit about the people who control half of the legislature and all of the Executive and about how they might work this. The British and Australians didn't have anything like the 2nd Amendment of protect their rights but what happens to our 2nd Amendment if enough people get their fears aroused to do away with it.

Possible , yes, likely, no.

Is it possible that you will win the megamillions lottery? Is it possible that you will be dating a Victoria's Secret model next year?

Yeah it's all possible, but I wouldn't bet on it

If the best trained and equipped military in the world can't disarm and subdue a handful of ignorant camel jockies in Afghanistan and Iraq, what makes you think that than can or would try to disarm 80,000,000 gun owners in this country?

Your paranoid premise has been presented dozen of times before by trolls from all walks of life, from "You can see Russia" Palin, to anonymous bloggers on the internets.

The law, i.e. the Constituion, forbids it, not enables it.

I haven't read the article yet but, with 300,000,000 privately owned firearms, no, I dont think it could ever happen. I know that I won't be giving mine up and anyone trying to take them would do so at the business of of them.

Ill go and read the article........

I didn't read article either; however, i agree with you. Don't think it's possible to collect even "many" of the guns and certainly not possible to collect ALL the guns.

If just one person hides one of their guns, says buries it in the woods or in their basement, they will fail to collect ALL guns.

So it's basically impossible to confiscate all guns.
