What stupid and asinine parents. How could you give a gun to a chid?!?! It presents a HUGE risk not only for all of the other students, teachers, etc. around him, but also to the boy himself. Also, I just loved the bit in the article where he pulled the gun out at recess and pointed it to another student's head threatening to kill them. Shows right there that the child is too stupid and immature to be handling any kind of firearms.
I'm truly shocked by this. How any parent could do this is beyond me. It really shows that people can really be so darn stupid. Some people really shouldn't be allowed to procreate......
Everyone & the kid has the basic right to defend themselves.
People who think twelve year olds should have guns are certifiably insane. We are not barbarians who let children near extremely dangerous tools. That may be one of the single most seriously insane sentences I've ever read.
Children are supposed to protected by adults not armed by them. Refusal to protect children by keeping them away from firearms is a serious form of child abuse.
There is no confirmation, at least from the article linked in the OP, that the parents ACTUALLY told the kid to bring the gun.. just that the kid told other kids this. I Have a hard time believing parents would tell their kid and allow their kid to bring a .22 gun to school..

I hope you're right.
