Even more funny is that you bring up "religous programming" to love guns....but your "religous programming" has brought you to hate guns....

CCW permits tend to be pretty common in Rural Oregon. Likely the kids both have a gun of their own, and were being responsible reporting it to the police so that it could be returned to the owner.
