Why does this matter so much to you, and do you really think he'll listen to a random citizen? All politicians are phony to some degree, and voting for a candidate doesn't mean you "worship" them or think they're perfect... when we only have two viable candidates to choose from, it's not like we can agree 100% with EITHER choice. Right? He is not perfect, no, but at least (IMO) he was better than the alternative - and that is really all I can say, since I don't spend much time thinking about this. I have my own life to worry about, and what's done is done until 2016.

All I can do now is wish him the best, and hope he follows through on some of his proposed changes/improvements. Isn't that how it goes with every President, or are you claiming in the past everyone who's voted for a candidate secretly disliked him? I'm very confused about your actual point here, or why it means anything in the big picture.

If it were not so hypocritical, it would almost be funny, but it's not very funny at all. I'm glad President Obama is stiffening his backbone.
It's just a tad bit strange that folks on the right side of the political parties(GOP, Libertarians, etc) say that the left is somehow placing the president on a pedestal....when in fact it seems the other way around, that the rightwingers are actually the ones placing him on the pedestal. They wail and gnash as if he's the second coming himself and they don't understand that he's not; and therefore has to play politics like everybody else in Washington. A lot of these rightwingers seemed to have a problem with seeing the gray-areas of life, and can only see things in black/white. Oh well, this bean burrito i'm enjoying right now taste good, so I guess i've got that.

I'd imagine they thought that Obama was some kind of a savior, at least that's what some righties have called him, savior in chief, among other things.

There is only so much one man can accomplish when the backward wheels are pulling against him at nearly every turn.

Fact is, Obama has been more like a Eisenhower president. Some have compared Obama to another president which escapes my memory right now. But, no two are alike.

Maybe the righties are eating up too much spoon fed right wing media, because it's where they derive their talking points from, and parrot those on the forum.

Don't take it wrong. There are real takers, and that's what people are complaining about - those who have other options but don't make the effort to pursue them because it's just easier to sit back and collect.

I don't think people are looking for a "perfect politician", just an honest one. A candidate who makes empty promises that he KNOWS he won't fulfill is a liar and is looking to lead people around by their noses.

If he doesn't realize he can't fulfill them, then he's too stupid to be in that office.

I, for one, am looking for an honest candidate, one with integrity, one who will tell us the truth and not try to snow us because he/she thinks we are not bright enough to see it.

Oh 100%. I agree. This president has done some things well and some things I agree with him on. He is not a total failure by any means. Also - you kind of have to be phoney to some extent to campaign these days.

Do you agree that Obama is phoney on a frequent basis and flip flops on core issues?

Are you disappointed that he has flip flopped on so many campaign promises that once inspired millions?

First of all, I think ALL politicians - republican or democrat, liberal or conservative or moderate - have a degree of phoniness about them. It is part of the job description. They sometimes do a good thing or two as well ... but they are still politicians, and not the most honest of people.

Look Obama won his re-election ... time to move on. Focus on local politics or do some volunteer community service.

Obama won, now as a US citizen I think he should try to live up to his promises that he can deliver without congress.

You should stop being part of the problem and excusing the president's phoniness and why on earth would you ask people not to try and hold an elected official accountable....unless you are a mindless follower that will excuse nearly everything he does.
