You guys claimed that easing gun laws would reduce crime. Chicago has eased gun laws, yet crime has gone up.
Seriously?
Firstly, Chicago has not eased gun laws. Secondly, even it has, you would need to allow the city to accumulate least 5 years' data to see any kind of trend.
Gun laws in Illinois - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Illinois does not issue licenses for the concealed carry of firearms, nor does it recognize licenses issued by other states. Illinois is the only state that does not allow concealed carry in some form. Open carry is also prohibited in most areas. When a firearm is being transported, it must be unloaded and enclosed in a case. On December 11, 2012, these blanket restrictions were struck down as unconstitutional by a federal appeals court, which gave the state 180 days to change its laws or appeal the decision.
Illinois does not have state preemption for gun laws, and some local governments have enacted ordinances that are more restrictive than those of the state.
Tell me, did all these shootings you claim to be so concerned about, happen after Dec. 12?
Or did these massive crimes happen while the huge bans were still in place?
The more desperate the paranoid gun-haters get, the sillier their claims become.
And as the mass shootings go on and on, the paranoid gun-haters have nothing but the same schemes that have been failing all along, and allowing these very shootings to continue: "assault weapns" bans, waiting periods, concealed-carry bans, etc. All of which are blithely ignored by criminals while law-abiding people obey them. And so tha mass murders keep happening, and even get worse.
Are you sure?? It's now legal to own a hand gun in Chicago, before it wasn't. You don't call that easing of gun laws?? What do you call it, gun confiscation?
Seriously, Don, try reading some posts, even if you don't agree with the poster. While it is now technically legal to own a handgun in Chicago, it is still nearly impossible to purchase one legally due to the absurdity of requirements that the administration is throwing up as roadblocks.
Here's a thought, check back after Emanuel's roadblocks are removed and see what the stats are.
So you can't come up with a quote so you post this
