If you look at the long term, the ban was started in 1982, homicides have drop almost half....1991 there were 928 homicides....2011 there were 433, which was less than 2010 (436)..... (page 2 of the link below).

You can cherry pick one year if you like, but what about the rest of the years?

Well, tell me how you could remove your 9mm from your home in Chicago and walk around with it. Either you open carry it or conceal carry it. Just stop and think before you make comments.

No one said owning guns reduces crime.

That's not what you originally said, you said you couldn't remove your gun from yoru home. Now you are talking about walking around with it in your hand. Fact is that you can remove your gun from your home as long as it's not loaded and in a container.

In self defense you can. Chicago is a crowded city of millions of people, irresponsible to have people shooting off their guns in public for the hell of it.

And as I've already shown you can show it went down by cherry picking data. There is tenet in science that states "Correlation does not imply causation". You may want to look that up and understand exactly what that means if you're going to try and use numbers to prove a point. If you want to cherry pick numbers and use small sample sizes such as you have done you can prove anything you want.

If you carry a gun you will be arrested. Do you even live here or are you just another in the thralls of arm chair masturbation?
