"If we don't stop extending our troops all around the world, uhh and nation building missions, we're going to have a serious problem down the road and I am going to prevent that." -GWB during 2000 presidential debates
More hoped for than planned I’d say. Militarists need wars to justify their existence and colonies to justify the wars. War profiteers need the money for obvious reasons.
George W Bush can not be trusted to wage a war on terrorism anymore! He has gone WAY OFF TRACK with it allready. Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11 and bush attacked anyway.

Then I guess you missed all of the news stories on CNN, New York Times, all those left wing newspapers etc last week, showing all the attacks last week against terrorists in Iraq...
Well duh! of course it was planned he just needed something like 9/11 to happen so he could have a reason to invade iraq and afghanistan. 9/11 was planned as well and anyone who won't open there eyes and see that is a fool and a sheep!
I remember the controversey surrounding our withdrawl from Iraq aftrer desert storm. Everyone was worried then about leaving saddam in power and as it turned out rightfully so. When I pulled the Republican ticket in 2000 I said under my breath now go fix your fathers mistake and remove saddam hussein.
Dubya did the right thing, with congresses permission

In May 1991, according to Clark, he dropped in for a conversation with Wolfowitz, then the third-ranking civilian in the Pentagon, to congratulate him on the success of the Gulf War.
"We screwed up and left Saddam Hussein in power. The president [then George H.W. Bush] believes he'll be overthrown by his own people, but I rather doubt it," he quotes Wolfowitz lamenting. "But we did learn one thing that's very important. With the end of the Cold War, we can now use our military with impunity. The Soviets won't come in to block us. And we've got five, maybe 10, years to clean up these old Soviet surrogate regimes like Iraq and Syria before the next superpower emerges to challenge us ... We could have a little more time, but no one really knows."
