The OP must LOVE Mayor Bloomberg of NYC with his banning of sodas over a certain size and his war against excessive use of salt. With all the issues that New York has to deal with--people drinking large soft crinks are his major concern.

It's not just happening in NYC. It's happening in Cleveland as well with these silly nanny state laws. But you're right, some people just love to control others.

Bloomberg has absolutley NO business being a Republican, or even an American, for that matter.

So because the OP thinks they serve no purpose then we should get rid of every fast food place in the US.

Shows great tolerance for those with other opinions doesn't it ?

Why do you need the government to tell you what to eat?

I know you might not believe this, but even with the marketing and a McDs around every corner, some of us are able to decide not to eat there. My youngest (8 y/o) doesn't even like it, and chooses subway over McDs if given the choice.
If you don't like it, don't eat there.

That is a very good question.
At the local and federal level we now have the government deciding on what's best for us.
How did that come about and is now acceptable by the masses is beyond me.

They provide a product people like at a price they're willing to pay. In return, they get income and provide jobs.

People like McDs that's the point. When I'm on the road it's real quick and easy to grab a bite. I prefer Wendy's burgers. The food and selection is getting better at FF places, and you can choose a salad w/low cal dressing and/or a plain burger.
