Why don't we take care of our own with the same zeal we have in our lame attempts remake other countries?

Good for them !
They opposed the PORK stuffed into the political "hot potato."
Alas, their statesmanship is too little, too late, and the U.S.S. Titanic is awash and sinking fast.

While it was important to pass the Sandy bill ASAP, it should have only been about disaster relief for Sandy. However, Washington added a bunch of extra unrelated crap.

Yes, the taxes that those states pay and get less back! The Senators from the states that voted against the bill get more money from the federal government than those states getting Sandy relief do. Most of the Sandy relief states contribute more in taxes than they get back in benefits and now when they need aid, the moocher states, like KY, that gets $1.57 for every dollar they send to Washington, wants to block it.

How much and is a few million in a $50 bil. bill something to complain about?

Whether or not taxes are doled back out fairly is a different argument completely. You will note that very few who have stated a problem with the constant stuffing of bills full of pork have a problem with the storm relief in general.

As an aside if you wish to discuss side issues, are you one that would argue that wealth redistribution is a good thing?

I'll go along with this!
Iraq has universal health care compliments of the US.

$50 Billion less the pork of $33 Billion = $17 Billion for Sandy relief. Something is very wrong here.

Yes, it's called Washington. If they had written a proper bill and passed it in a reasonable amount of time, we wouldn't be here talking about pork.

My question to the Tea Party "Patriots":

Why? What have our brothers and sisters in the Northeast, who have been struggling with such devastation, done to deserve such inhumane treatment by the Republican Party? Why such hate? Where is the "compassionate conservatism" that George W. Bush used to talk about? What does the Bible say about this?
Did you happen to notice? Not very many of these people {a minority} have districts in hurricane zones? But if they did, they'd be first in line with hand open looking for cash.
