New Bill Seeks to Severely Restrict Homeschooling in South Carolina :

Gotta make sure the state is the only one educating students...can't have them learning facts and logic and not propaganda.

Good. It needs regulating because many "home schooled" children aren't getting educated at all. All this bill does is say home schooled kids have to pass the same standardized tests as kids going to regular schools and if the kid doesn't pass then obviously home schooling isn't working and the child would have to then attend an actual accredited school.

That doesn't sound unreasonable to me. It just is a check to see if the child is actually receiving an education or not.

Gee, the group he wants to eliminate has a 98% college attendance rate.
Can he say the same for SC public schools ?

Can't go and let people do for themselves because they may prove to be doing a better job than nanny government could ever hope to do.

Here's the article where an administrator comments on that third option the SC bill wants to eliminate.

Everyone has to take the SAT to get into college.
That group that he wants to eliminate has a 98% college attendance rate from their students.
Is that a number that would raise a red flag and call for changes and "accountability" ?

Not sure that is a real number seeing it is hard to calculate the number of students that are home schooled and the number that apply for college, though it might be easier to count how many apply to college and get in, but that also doesn't tell you much.

If you look at the number of students that go to school through public or private over home school is going to crush the number of students that are home schooled in this country, which makes it near impossible to compare the different groups.

(and yes I am aware this is from 2010, but I doubt there has been a huge change in these numbers.)

They have memberships in groups. That's what this bill wants to do..eliminate those membership groups.
There's a lot about home schooling you may not realize and that would be due to media not telling the entire story of home schooling. Many think it's like every man for himself and that families are doing this in their own little bubble. That's not exactly how it works.

Possibly, I just have no interest in doing home schooling with any child I have.

Wrong. not all schools administer SAT's and not all colleges look at SAT results.
