Unable to show any leadership, the GOP is just the party of (ineffective) opposition.
I find it sad that someone is gleeful over a poor choice getting approved simply because they think it makes the other side look bad.

The one who looks bad is the one that would have slammed this nomination endlessly if the other party had nominated him but now is glad he was confirmed.

A poor choice? Really? When Hagel left the Senate in early 2009, McConnell praised him for his “clear voice and stature on national security and foreign policy.” But wait, that was before Hagel was nominated by Obama. Suddenly he became "weak on defense" despite years of service on the Foreign Policy and Intelligence committees, as well as his decorated military career. Nope, not good enough for the Republicans. Of course during the same time, they unanimously voted for John Kerry, the guy they swift-boated in the 2004 election, to Secretary of State.

I wasn't aware my name was McConnell. If you go and look I said I didn't have much of a problem with Hagel. I was a bit confused why Obama would appoint someone that said someone that was gay had no business representing the country but that I didn't have a problem with his positions on the military.

We are speaking about Jack Lew here right?

What exactly does this have to do with this topic?

I can easily play that game though concerning who Jack Lew is and the past statements of Obama.

{edit} Here I did it for you.

Republicans digging in on Hagel...and i just don't understand why.
